:Ha, I tried to ID that a while ago. The scope is made by Schmidt and Bender, but I couldn't find a scope that was 100% correct. The rifle uses the "[http://www.ashburyprecisionordnance.com/the-saber-forsst-modular-rifle-chassis-system/ SABER®-FORSST® Modular Rifle Chassis]" by Ashbury Precision Ordnance. I tried to ID the parts they used, but the naming system is very confusing. On the far left, partially cutoff by the screen, is what could possibly be a K98. I initially thought 1903, but it lacks the distinctive "hump" in front of the rear sight. Next to Swagger, from top down, is a Dragunov, an M14 or M1A in a precision stock, a McMillan CS5, and an AR-15 I can't ID. On the right, again from top down, looks like a bolt-action AR-15 of some kind, an M40A3, an AW-type rifle, and a Remington 700PSS. I confess that I have never read the books so I can't comment on what these where supposed to be in the books. In the show the Black Kings are described to be something special. From the little they have been seen so far they look like a complete custom rifle. Based on the scenes that Bob Lee is shown actually firing them I can tell you that the bolt action is turn bolt so it eliminates the Blaser line of rifles which is what I originally thought them to be based. I have some screen shots that seem to be the best shots of them so far. I've actually found out what the rifles are. Apparently it's a D&L MR-30 PG, and that company has confirmed it's their rifle. I stand corrected. Awesome looking rifle. My guess is that it is a little known rifle. The fact that it is so uncommon lends itself to the mystical powers the The Black King is supposed to have in the story line. I mean of the story really is that there are only 4 in the world then knowing the audience will call BS if they used an off the shelf Remington they would want to go with a custom gun. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

FRom the Looks of it, i think its a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. I can tell you that its not Jax's Dads Service Pistol form Vietnam because of the sights on the weapon.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

The Springfield Armory has been around since 1777. Production stopped in 1968 and it was converted to a museum and National Park. Prior to its closure it made Springfield rifles like the M1 Garand. They never made 1911 style pistols. The did however service them and maintain them. They also tested and "proofed" them. Most of the 1911 pistols used by the military prior to WW2 were made by Colt. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian company called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

FRom the Looks of it, i think its a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. I can tell you that its not Jax's Dads Service Pistol form Vietnam because of the sights on the weapon.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

The Springfield Armory has been around since 1777. Production stopped in 1968 and it was converted to a museum and National Park. Prior to its closure it made Springfield rifles like the M1 Garand. They never made 1911 style pistols. The did however service them and maintain them. They also tested and "proofed" them. Most of the 1911 pistols used by the military prior to WW2 were made by Colt. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian company called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. If it is meant to be a nod to Lambs and the like (Julianne Moore's Sterling uses an almost identical gun in the alternate ending of ''Hannibal''), that's cool, and probably likely. Of course Matthew Gray Gubler himself might prefer the revolver, be it personally or even for his character. I always found revolvers much simpler and practical than semiautos in many cases, and Gubler/Reid might think the same way. I also notice that the more 'unique' characters (Reid, Rossi/Mantegna, and Gideon/Patinkin) all have their own unique guns than the rest of the team's Glocks (Rossi with the Springfield TRP 1911, Gideon with the P226 and Reid with the Model 65) but they all (mostly) correlate to actual-issue FBI weapons, albeit a bit more distantly in Reid's case. The FBI uses the Springfield Professional, available only through their custom shop. The TRP is a mass produced model that's cheaper and designed for civilians, it has many of the same features as the professional. They're two completely different weapons but both this page and the page for Numbers make the same mistake of saying the TRP is used by the FBI.

The TRP was originally produced with 2 variants. One was the standard TRP then the FBI contract pistol was known as the TRP Pro model. Springfield has since done away with the TRP Pro model and offered the Springfield Custom Professional. It is identical to the TRP Pro. The FBI contract pistol has a long history. Problems with all the submissions made it difficult to choose one. Original models were made by Les Baer and were high capacity models. ==Glock 17 Duex==

I know as a general rule that whenever we see a Glock in a movie, unless proven otherwise, it is assumed to be a 9mm Glock. But I think that it's safe to assume that the BAU team (with the exception of Reid, Gideon, and Rossi) all use Glock 22s. I mean, this show is incredibly accurate as far as how the real life FBI BAU operates, so they would obviously use the same firearms. Plus, the sidearms of the other agents are accurate too. For example, Rossi carries a Springfield Armory TRP, which is what the real life FBI HRT uses as well. Gideon, an older FBI agent, uses a SIG Sauer P226, a weapon that has been previously used by the FBI (indicating that he became an FBI agent during this period). So it's clearly more likely that the agents use Glock 22's. This same statement applies to Agent Hotchner's backup Glock (it's most likely a Glock 27, not a 26). [[User:Gunman69|Gunman69]]

One scene had a militaia leader analyze reid and morgan's guns, he said quote "Glock 17, Tactical, But european, I prefer to carry american hardware." Also, the G22 is similar to a 17 so they probably didn't expect viewers to pick up on it.

If it is meant to be a nod to Lambs and the like (Julianne Moore's Sterling uses an almost identical gun in the alternate ending of ''Hannibal''), that's cool, and probably likely. Of course Matthew Gray Gubler himself might prefer the revolver, be it personally or even for his character. I always found revolvers much simpler and practical than semiautos in many cases, and Gubler/Reid might think the same way. I also notice that the more 'unique' characters (Reid, Rossi/Mantegna, and Gideon/Patinkin) all have their own unique guns than the rest of the team's Glocks (Rossi with the Springfield TRP 1911, Gideon with the P226 and Reid with the Model 65) but they all (mostly) correlate to actual-issue FBI weapons, albeit a bit more distantly in Reid's case. The FBI uses the Springfield Professional, available only through their custom shop. The TRP is a mass produced model that's cheaper and designed for civilians, it has many of the same features as the professional. They're two completely different weapons but both this page and the page for Numbers make the same mistake of saying the TRP is used by the FBI.

The TRP was originally produced with 2 variants. One was the standard TRP then the FBI contract pistol was known as the TRP Pro model. Springfield has since done away with the TRP Pro model and offered the Springfield Custom Professional. It is identical to the TRP Pro. The FBI contract pistol has a long history. Problems with all the submissions made it difficult to choose one. Original models were made by Les Baer and were high capacity models. The original Springfield model chosen by the FBI was the TRP Pro.

I know as a general rule that whenever we see a Glock in a movie, unless proven otherwise, it is assumed to be a 9mm Glock. But I think that it's safe to assume that the BAU team (with the exception of Reid, Gideon, and Rossi) all use Glock 22s. I mean, this show is incredibly accurate as far as how the real life FBI BAU operates, so they would obviously use the same firearms. Plus, the sidearms of the other agents are accurate too. For example, Rossi carries a Springfield Armory TRP, which is what the real life FBI HRT uses as well. Gideon, an older FBI agent, uses a SIG Sauer P226, a weapon that has been previously used by the FBI (indicating that he became an FBI agent during this period). So it's clearly more likely that the agents use Glock 22's. This same statement applies to Agent Hotchner's backup Glock (it's most likely a Glock 27, not a 26). [[User:Gunman69|Gunman69]]

One scene had a militaia leader analyze reid and morgan's guns, he said quote "Glock 17, Tactical, But european, I prefer to carry american hardware." Also, the G22 is similar to a 17 so they probably didn't expect viewers to pick up on it.

On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

The Springfield Armory has been around since 1777. Production stopped in 1968 and it was converted to a museum and National Park. Prior to its closure it made Springfield rifles like the M1 Garand. They never made 1911 style pistols. The did however service them and maintain them. They also tested and "proofed" them. Most of the 1911 pistols used by the military prior to WW2 were made by Colt. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian company called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

FRom the Looks of it, i think its a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. I can tell you that its not Jax's Dads Service Pistol form Vietnam because of the sights on the weapon.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

The Springfield Armory has been around since 1777. Production stopped in 1968 and it was converted to a museum and National Park. Prior to its closure it made Springfield rifles like the M1 Garand. They never made 1911 style pistols. The did however service them and maintain them. They also tested and "proofed" them. Most of the 1911 pistols used by the military prior to WW2 were made by Colt. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian company called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

The Mil-Spec also comes standard with the lowered ejection port. Generally yes...but...since this is a show with dialogue...the characters might have talked in script about guns they are dealing...without actually showing the firearms they are dealing. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

FRom the Looks of it, i think its a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. I can tell you that its not Jax's Dads Service Pistol form Vietnam because of the sights on the weapon.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

The Springfield Armory has been around since 1777. Production stopped in 1968 and it was converted to a museum and National Park. Prior to its closure it made Springfield rifles like the M1 Garand. They never made 1911 style pistols. The did however service them and maintain them. They also tested and "proofed" them. Most of the 1911 pistols used by the military prior to WW2 were made by Colt. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian company called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. None of this has anything to do with Jax's 1911. Which I believe to be a Mil-Spec model with some custom shop work done to it. All of the full size SA Pro models have front slide serrations which Jax's does not have. The Mil-Spec model does not have front slide serrations but can be upgraded to have a mag well, extended beavertail safety and skelotonized hammer and trigger. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. After WW2 most were made by a company named Remington Rand with some made by Colt and other smaller companies. I work very close to the Armory Museum and visit it often. The current Springfield Armory purchased the name rights in the 1970's and purchased the rights originally for just the M1 rifle designs. They import the components for the 1911 pistols from parts manufactured by a Brazillian called Imbel. One interesting thing about the current company is that one of the original gunsmiths in the SA custom shop was Les Baer who makes, IMHO, one of the best semi custom 1911 pistols on the market today. None of this has anything to do with Jax's 1911. Which I believe to be a Mil-Spec model with some custom shop work done to it. All of the full size SA Pro models have front slide serrations which Jax's does not have. The Mil-Spec model does not have front slide serrations but can be upgraded to have a mag well, extended beavertail safety and skelotonized hammer and trigger. Well the M4s were a custom order from the Niners. The shipments they were getting from the Irish were all AK's so thats what they had to deal. The MP-5's were what the Triads were importing. On 10/13/2009, Jax is seen using what appears to be a customized M1911A1 in a shoulder rig. Does anybody know if this has become Jax's new weapon of choice?

I believe that its a modified Springfield/Colt M1911A1 the reason for this is because it could very likely be Jax's fathers service pistol from when he was in the military during Vietnam.

In a few of the last episodes of season 2 you can clearly seeit is marked Kimber. It looks like it may be a Kimber Royal II 45 ACP ;)

Sorry but in the last few episodes, specifically the episode when Jax goes into Weston's house only to find his children, you can see the markings on the 1911 very clearly. The marking on the back of the slide is that of a Springfield Armory. The marking on the font of the slide, if you're a Springfield fan, you can tell that it says Springfield Custom. Jax uses a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. Springfield uses clear lettering on their pistols whereas Kimber uses custom cursive, kind of italic.

FRom the Looks of it, i think its a Springfield Armory Professional Model 1911-A1 Springfeild Custom. I can tell you that its not Jax's Dads Service Pistol form Vietnam because of the sights on the weapon.

To whoever is saying that it could be John Tellers service pistol you are dead wrong. And even more wrong about Springfield supplying firearms to the govt in the VN war. Springfield Armory, Inc. didn't exist in any capacity until 1974. Springfield Armory has been around long before '74; however, it was not the company that it is today. Though circulation was one of the lowest - along with US&S - the Springfields were around. In the case of Jaxs, it is agreeably a SA Professional straight from the Custom Shop. Same features, along with the 'CUSTOM' rollmark posted front-right. Great weapon choices for the characters -- I especially loved Clay's Expert.

I am thinking it is a Kel Tec P11 based on the 2nd screen cap. The grip of the gun does not have the Kahr logo and the shape of the grip is off. ==Miami gun==
This screen-cap of the gun Raylin uses at the table in Miami at the start of the episode does NOT look like a SIG Sauer P226. It has large square front end, the possibly after-market spring guide rod is stainless and rather large hex; the grip flares above the hand. Other details are a little hard to distinguish, but I think the ID for this prop gun is still unknown. Ideas?

Perfect! Here's an animated image I took off the ep. It clearly shows that it's a non-gun. That's why it looks kind of funny, a little like a Glock, some of the parts don't match, and it's way too simplified. Classic non-gun. Given that I think we're fine leaving it as a Sig Sauer P226. And we have another image to add to the non-gun page.

She missed, no buckshot to the chest. The have already shown he's in the hurt box but alive. FX tends to be on the level with violence.

Givens shot Boyd centermass, so it's understood from the dialogue of the other characters that Givens missed the heart on purpose out of some sense of loyalty to Boyd. And if you would pay close enough attention to the dialogue and not just the action, many of these simple questions are answered.

Someone has now added the Glock 31 to the page. I'm starting to thing Glock sponsored this show just to advertize their product line.

Alot of the glocks on this page are speculative. For example just because a character on the show verbally says he's using a 45 doesnt mean he is using a real life Glock 21, he might say 45 but is filmed with a glock 17 or 19. Also just because it looks like a .357 sig cartridge doesnt mean its a Model 31 or 32, it might mean that he is using a model 22 with a necked and crimped blank round. They can also use the same gun in multiply seens with diffrent people...for all we know right now they can be passing the same Glock 17 and 26 to all the characters and call them diffrent calibers. Other Weapons were the Revolver & Sniper Rifle used by Boyd. Two other badguys used AK rifles.

The Glock 26 is a subcompact pistol chambered for 9x19mm.

In episode 2 Marshal Givens is asked to drop both his gun and his backup. If his primary gun is a Glock 17 or 19 it would make sense that his backup is a Glock 26. Then you have mag and ammo compatibility.

-He states that his primary is a .45 Glock. No .45 Glock is this small so it stands to reason that this would be a 9mm because of Armor safety issues. There's no need for it to be a .357. However, from the size, it could easily be a Glock 33 in .357 sig or a Glock 27 in .40 S&W.

(Regarding statement above about there not being a .45 glock in that size) If you don't know anything about glocks, which you obviously don't, keep your statements off the internet. The glock 30 is a compact .45 glock. In the episode "the hammer" he states he has a .45 glock, which means he has...a .45 glock!! Pay closer attention and think before you type on a website that gun-nut cops (such as myself) visit on a daily basis.

If you seriously think that that SUB COMPACT weapon shown below is a Glock 30, then you've never held one. As a Glock 30 is a smaller COMPACT weapon. My personal belief that this is very likely the Glock 39 in .45 GAP, it's size difference being almost negligable when compared to the glock Glock 26. This show obviously seems to be marketing for glock and it stands to reason that his full size weapon is a Glock 37, also in .45 GAP. You can clearly see it is not the Glock 30, if you've ever held one. The frame size alone is far too small, Glock 30 holds 10 .45 ACP, the 39 only 6 in GAP. My first statement was that no weapon is ".45 Glock is this small" and while it isn't true, I had considered the Glock 30 a outright saw that this weapon is too small. dunno, there's been some speculation as to the plethora of glocks shown in this show, such as maybe a product placement deal? who knows. i mean, the last time i looked at the actual page it was listed that raylen used a glock in .357 Sig. In the commercial world? If you are going by the commercial world then the round would have to be no longer produced by any manufacturer to be dead. Federal, Magtech, Remington, Winchester, and Speer are major producers of ammunition and they still see fit to produce the .45 GAP. If major suppliers of ammunition are still producing a round, then it can't be considered dead in the water. As for .45 GAP Glock's being cheaper, its called supply and demand. The .45 GAP was forgotten by a lot of writers when Springfield Armory made their XD in .45 ACP. The same could be said about the .357 Sig. Except for Law Enforcement Agencies, not a lot of people carry or own a .357 Sig. Where I am, pistols chambered in the .357 Sig are somewhat cheaper than .40S&W, .45ACP or 9mm. They is not a great demand so suppliers are focusing more on popular models. I have cousins and know a lot of Georgia State Patrolmen. They didn't get bamboozled into the .45 GAP. They like it. In my store we have 6 types of .357 sig, 5 types of 10mm, 2 types of .327 federal...Hell we even have RCM ammo in stock. But not one box of 45 GAP, not one gun chambered in .45 GAP. All my suppliers from MT to Acusport to gunarama to ellett brothers tell me they cant give the .45GAPs away because they sit on the shelf and collect dust because nobody wants them. The ammo is becoming more and more low production similiar to the .32 H&R mag and .38 short colt ammo. Springfield DID chamber the XD in 45 gap but dropped it because NOBODY was buying them...and just try to find a Springfield 1911 in a 45 gap (they talked about it in 2005 but i never saw one). If my memory serves me right i think PARA chambers in a 9x23 so if they do do a 45gap it is meaningless for the caliber and anyway they dont do it anymore. AND Finally, If someone gave me a free 45 gap and my job supplied me with all the 45gap ammo i could shot (like the Georgia State patrol) I would most likely say that i like the caliber too...but that does not mean i would go buy my own ammo and my own personal gun in that caliber. All my customers that bought the 45gap back in the day thinking it would be cool all grew to regret it and are now trying to sell them without lossing their shirt in the deal. Okay, it was pure speculation, based upon the scene we see. If we are going go over this "9mm are easier to blank fire" thing EVERYTIME a glock is mentioned, then this site is going to get very boring. There are many incidents of a director or actor wanting the specific weapon because a person or persons they base their character on, or them just liking a certain caliber. Ok here is my take on this whole discussion as I just finished reading all the posts going back and forth about what Glock he is carrying. Glocks are very difficult to identify on film without a clear image of the slide and model numbers on them. I think if a character says in a show/film that they are carrying a 45 Glock then unless you have a screen cap of the gun proving otherwise then it should be posted as such. This isn't a case like the movie Kiss the Girls where the character says 'drop the Glock" and the gun is clearly not a Glock. Or A Few Good Men when the character says a "nickle plated 45" and the gun in question is a 9mm Beretta. It should also be noted that the 2 most common calibers for blankadapted firearms are both 9mm AND 45acp. That is because the standard pressures of the round can be low enough to be safe to the actors while still alowing the gun to function properly. 40s&w and 357sig are higher pressure/power rounds and therefore not likely to be blank adapted for use in film. The 45gap is a lower power 45 so it is possible but the brass and ammo for them tend to cost more. Just IMHO... if the guy says it is a 45 Glock and he is in fact carrying a Glock (which should be easy to identify for all of us gun nuts) then it should be posted as such and not what we "think" it is because it is "unlikely" the actor was handed what he says he has.--[[User:Ram229|Ram229]] 02:46, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

If this is an FBI issue 1911 it's neither a sig nor an S&W. It's a Springfield Armory Pro Operator. Springfield's part number is PC9105LP and it is in the FBI's TOE (and is used by HRT among other units). The FBI currently issues Glock 22/23, and previously issued a Sig P226 (as can be seen in the X Files.) I'm not aware that either the S&W or the Sig 1911's are current issue though it's not impossible that the show simply got it wrong. Based on the screen-cap, it could be either. I'm inclined to say it's a SIG GSR due to the squared appearence.

I am inclined to believe that it is the S&W due to the fact that the Sig GSR has a very distinct appearance to the slide. The older model Sig 1911 pistols have a "groove" on both sides of the barrel from the muzzle down to the ejection port. The S&W is more traditional in appearance with sides on the barrel. His revolver seems to be a smith and wesson 681 .357 magnum with after market grips.

You sure? I could of sworn it had adjustable sights. My guess would be a S&W Model 686, or possobly a 686P, with either a 3" or 4" barrel.

While I am rewatching the first 2 episodes, can someone ID this gun for me. It appeared in the opening chase scene in the first episode

I may be wrong, but that looks like a [[Vektor CP1]] to me. The shape looks right, I can't think of any other pistol with a partly red trigger, and I think I can just about make out the Vektor logo on the grip. [[User:Jimmoy|Jimmoy]] 12:56, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

I thought the 226 had either the DA/SA standard or DAK (Double Action Kellerman,evidenced by the shorter hammer/no spur), setups only. I could be mistaken. - Peejn8r
I love my Sig but honestly limiting a DA/SA gun to DAO seems dumb to be because its not designed for it. Especially when Glock and the alike, XD M&P p99, have a similar feeling setup with way better trigger pulls. - Peejn8r

I can't speak for Chicago but my PD went to DAO or striker fired only to keep the manual of arms the same. That way if another person had to use another persons firearm for some reason it is a consistant trigger pull. I personally prefer DA/SA for my firearms but having a consistant trigger pull has its merits. --[[User:Ram229|Ram229]] 01:09, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Thats pretty much it... The idea behind DAO is not so much if another officer gets the weapon but for the training. With the DAO pattern the trigger pull is identical everytime. The problem with a DAO system is the massive long trigger pull making it harder to use the tried and true double take accurately. The advantage of a striker fired weapon is the identical trigger pull of a DAO system without the massively long pull. I think with a DAO Beretta the pull is like 12 pounds everytime. The pull on a Glock is supposed to be 5.5, Huge difference. Personally I prefer the DA/SA setup, or even Cocked and Locked Single Action. - Peejn8r

It is after the first shot on DA/SA, and if the argument is to make sure the Police don't accidentally shoot someone then the trigger would still be the same as on the first shot on DA/SA. It has more to do with the training aspect. When a larger dept authorizes several different guns for carry instead of actually issuing a particular firearm training is the only thing the PD can control. Imagine being in charge of the PD fireamrs unit or armorer and having to train every officer on multiple different platforms. When my dept changed over to the M&P after having a DA/SA SW99 the cert officer kept forgetting and saying "decock and holster." Now imagine if he forgot to say "decock and holster" and we were still carrying our DA/SA guns. After awhile officers might start carrying in SA mode only. If all the guns are DAO systems or striker fired like Glocks there is no worry about messing up and causing an unsafe practice from developing. Not to mention having to emply someone to keep track of all the different platforms would be just plain unreasonable. As far as a misfire or 2nd strike for DA/SA firearms, most depts that I have worked with and for train to clear misfires before pulling the trigger again. My dept actually induces them to help officers practice the "clear, move and then engage the threat" typ of scenario.--[[User:Ram229|Ram229]] 22:59, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
