Please check carefully to make sure that the rifle in question is a true AK-47 and not an AKM or a Chinese Type 56. When in doubt, it is probably safer to assume AKM or Type 56.
AK-47
It is noteworthy that the U.S. government had a ban on all weapons imported from Warsaw Pact nations during the Cold War years (1947-1989). Communist nations which were not part of the Warsaw pact, such as Yugoslavia and Mainland China, were allowed to negotiate trade agreements with the U.S., thus the influx of Chinese AK type rifles and Yugo AKs (Zastava). The Maadi ARMs (the US version of the MISR) were allowed because Egypt was never a Communist country nor a member of the Warsaw Pact. But, as a result of this, virtually no U.S. movie has a real original AK47 prior to a certain date. The exceptions are, custom build ups after the mid 1990s when original AK-47 rifle kits were available (as was done on "We Were Soldiers", using original blueprints and US made milled receivers), and movies filmed overseas where foreign movie armorers had no such restrictions. This is particularly true for films made in Israel and some parts of Europe. This is not the case now, with the current crop of films made outside the U.S., mostly in the newly democratic Eastern European nations (Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, etc.) However, Russia has firmly blocked the export of their old AK-47 surplus guns outside of the country, having distributed most of them to client nations and guerrillas throughout the world in the previous five decades. So the AK47 one 'thinks' one sees may very well be a Poly Technologies Legend series AK (from China) or another AK Variant.

The improved version of the AK-47, featuring a number of refinements such as a stamped receiver (as opposed to the milled receiver of the original AK-47), a slant compensator on the tip of the barrel (to reduce recoil), an improved gas tube (without vents), and use of lighter materials to reduce weight and simplify construction.

Most of the AKMs seen in Hollywood movies are actually Egyptian Maadi MISR copies, which were sold in the U.S. as the ARM in the 1980s - such weapons were first procured by Stembridge Gun Rentals for Red Dawn and subsequently re-used in numerous other motion pictures. The Maadi is almost identical to the original Soviet-built AKM, save for the markings, and is nearly impossible to tell apart.
Basically the same as the AKM, but the rear-trunion is altered with a swiveling mechanism to allow for the under-folding stock. The AKMS nomenclature also indicates that the rifle is not a milled receiver variant and has the AKM style of gas block, top cover, barrel assembly, front sight, and appropriate forearm furniture.

The Chinese Type 56 rifle (manufactured by China North Industries Corporation, or Norinco) is by far the most commonly-seen AK derivative in Hollywood productions, both film and television. They are frequently seen impersonating Russian weapons in many films, since the Russians never sold a civilian AK model in the U.S. (or Europe) during the latter half of the 20th century. Most of the movie prop rental houses in Hollywood had dozens if not hundreds of Chinese AKs - mostly the Type 56s (7.62x39mm version) or the similar Type 84s (5.56x45mm version). These were usually semi-automatic civilian versions (commonly designated "AK47S" or "AKS47" by the importers), in many cases converted to full-auto by Class III manufacturers.

There are three main variants of the Type 56 - the standard Type 56, which has a fixed stock, the Type 56-1, which has an under-folding stock, and the Type 56-2, which has a side-folding stock. Most fixed-stock Type 56 rifles have an under-folding spike bayonet, known as the "pig sticker"; this rifle is often seen in movies about the Vietnam War, and is correct for NVA throughout most of the conflict. Quite a few of the Type 56s seen in movies also have AKM-style slant compensators fitted; this was a common feature on semi-auto Type 56s exported to the U.S., but NOT the full-auto military model.

The easiest way to tell when an AK-type rifle seen in a movie or TV show is a Chinese Type 56 is by looking at the front sight; Chinese AKs have a distinctive full-circle ("hooded") front sight that no other AKs (including those made in Russia) have.
Norinco was stuck sitting on a pile of 21" RPK barrels chambered for 5.56mm when the door slammed shut on U.S. imports in 1989. Norinco saved money by mating their 21" long RPK-style barrels to their stockpile of 84S Folding Stock receiver bodies and thus exported the Type 84S Match to countries such as Canada and Australia. Canada would suffer their own import ban on 'frightening looking guns' in 1995. Australian gun owners would suffer such a fate in 1997.]]

Nearly identical to the Chinese Type 56 (seen above), but chambered in 5.56x45mm. The Type 84 was imported and sold with an AK birdcage flash hider and had a deep polished factory blue. It is often seen impersonating the AK-74 in movies and TV shows. Several other variants of the 84S Rifle (that are mostly unfamiliar to American Gun Owners) were victims of the 1989 Import Ban that barred most new 'assault rifles' from entering the United States. These rifles were thus mostly exported to Canada and Australia, and as a result, appeared in television shows or movies that were filmed in those countries. Listed here are two of the variants seen in Canadian or Australian television (the Target and the Match versions). If it were not for Canadian or Australian movie armorers, most of us in the U.S. would never have known these variants existed.

The Zastava M70 was the Yugoslavian variant of the Russian AK-47 (later AKM), however, it utilized a strengthened lower receiver, more akin to the RPK than the AK-47/AKM. It also has other design variations which make it immediately recognizable from it's Russian cousin. Some of the variants also have finned barrels to aid in heat dispersion. It was made by Zavodi Crvena Zastava (Red Banner Plant), now Zastava Oružje / Zastava Arms in a Yugoslavian (now Serbian) city of Kragujevac.
It was most widely used and seen in the Wars in the 1990s of the former Yugoslavian republics - Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro (Slovenia and Macedonia were not a major combatants in the fighting). Yugoslavia also sold them to many countries such as Iraq (which produced a licensed copy known as the Tabuk, which lacked the grenade-launching sight) and Kuwait.

The Zastava M70 was produced in the following variants:

* M70 - milled receiver, fixed stock
* M70A – milled receiver, underfolding stock
* M70A1 – milled receiver, underfolding stock, mount for night or optical sights
* M70B1 – stamped receiver, fixed stock
* M70AB2 – stamped receiver, underfolding stock
* M70B1N – stamped receiver, fixed stock, mount for night or optical sights
* M70AB2N – stamped receiver, underfolding stock, mount for night or optical sights
* Variants M70B, M70AB and M70AB1 also exist, but they are rare and their specifications are unclear.
Colt Commando
The Delta operators mainly wield the M727 and M733 variants of the Colt Commando. Staff Sgt. Daniel Busch (Richard Tyson) is the first Delta member on screen, and also the first soldier we see carrying an M727. All Delta members carry M727s and M733s, fitted with various accessories such as Aimpoint scopes and tactical flashlights, some of them also have M4 style barrels. Master Sgt. Gary Gordon (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) can be seen carrying an M733 featuring a camouflage paint scheme and a sound suppressor, which is then used by Chief Warrant Officer Michael Durant (Ron Eldard) to pick off several more Somalis before running out of ammunition and being overwhelmed.

Delta Customs
The Deltas arm themselves differently from the Rangers by using customized Colt Model 727 and 733 rifles as opposed to longer, heavier M16A2 rifles. Many are fitted with such accessories as Aimpoint scopes, tactical flashlights (with the pressure switch taped to the handguard with 100mph tape), some of them have camouflage paint schemes, and some of them are fitted with 14.5" barrels with M203 cuts (M727).

Rangers
While the Rangers are armed almost entirely with M16A2 rifles, Cpt. Steele (Jason Isaacs) uses an M733 rifle noted by the 11.5" barrel, with nothing modified or changed. A field medic is also seen using an M733, presumabley because he would need a lighter, more versatile weapon to move quickly to wounded soldiers.

Delta Sniper
Master Sgt. Gary Gordon uses an M733 rifle with the camo paint, scope and a light, but his is fitted with a sound suppressor. Shughart gives this rifle to the wounded Chief Warrant Officer Michael Durant, who uses it before it runs out of ammo.

CAR-15
Some of the Deltas are seen using Colt Commando CAR-15 carbines with the original long type muzzle break, which are also heavily customized. There is a high possibility they are built from several Commando types so a definite I.D. isn't certain unless the armorer can verify it.

Colt M4 carbine
Hoot seems to use an Colt M4 carbine rifle with the same customizations and paint job as the Commando rifles when doing solo operations in Somalia, noted by its removable carry handle. He uses it to shoot a wild boar from a chopper, and is chastized by Cpt. Steele (Jason Isaacs) for keeping the weapon's safety off in the baracks. It is noted as an M4, the burst rifle varient because the M4A1, the full-auto varient had not been issued yet. The M4A1 would begin issue around 1995 or so. One of the Deltas is also seen using an M4 carbine during the operation itself.

A bit of anachronism here, both the M4 and M4A1 entered service in 1994, a year after the events of this film (in 1993), so the M4 should technically not be in Hoot's hands. The probable reason was the fact that most of the earlier M16 Carbines are hard to come by, so they needed something to fill that gap.

M60 machine gun
Specialist Shawn Nelson (Ewen Bremner) can be seen carrying an M60 machine gun machine gun as his standard weapon. Some of the Somalians can be seen using them as well.

FN Minimi
Several Rangers can be seen carrying FN Minimis throughout the film, standing in for the M249 SAW (note the lack of heat shield over the top of the barrel, frame-style stock, and 90-degree carry handle).

MasterBlaster: /* Unknown guns */

The following guns were used in the anime series Hellsing and from it's OVA "Hellsing Ultimate"

Hellsing like many anime started as a manga or graphic novel. The story revolves on an English orginization called Hellsing, most likely based on the original Van Helsing. It's mission is obvious, to hunt down vampires mainly, though on the side they do tackle demonic agents of vampires like ghouls, zombie like creatures that are essential like vampires but their wills are controlled by a head vampire.

The Anime was a bit different and somewhat tame compared to the events in the manga, as such, an "OVA" was created, not complete yet, that shows the more main story of the series rather than filler.

Alucard is the main character of the series, which the series hints that he is Dracula, but now under the service of the head of the Hellsing family. He is not a vampire turned good. He's a true monster that is unleashed on other vampires.

The OVA was created several years after the original anime and under different artists and a bigger budget, so the art is a lot different when compared to the anime. It's like comparing a TV series and the movie based on the TV series.

Handguns
The Joshua Casull
Alucard's first gun, which is a longslide .454 Cassull Autoloader. The Joshua is the first custom handgun made by Hellsing, specifically designed by Walter. It's essentially a very big gun handgun, with a length of 39cm. It's chambered for the mighty .454 Casull round, which finds use primarily in hunting large game, such as deer and bears. Of course, these bullets are special, being made out of silver obtained from melted holy relics, with an exploding property as well, making for a rather devestating cartridge against the legions of the night. The magazines only hold about six rounds, plus one.

The Casull is based believed to be based upon the colt 1911 or its varients like the longslide, however I have notices that it bears a greater resemblance to Early model Colt Pistols).

In some episodes of close ups, you'll notice the hammer is never fully cocked, and is moving back as he pulls the trigger, meaning a double action mechanism, the pivot trigger is another indication of this, similiar to the early colts.

The lengthy barrel and slide gives this gun incredible accuracy and the weight at the front of the gun makes the massive round significantly more controllable. Something this extreme suits Alucard perfectly.

Jackal
Alucard's second handgun made espeically for him. Jackal was made after Alucard's first encounter with Anderson - in fact, it likely was specifically designed with him in mind, considering the 'Jesus Christ is in Heaven, Now!' engraved on the side. Though the gun looks essentially the same, with the same overall length of 39cm, it's radically different, being made from pure silver, weighing 16kg. Obviously, no human could possibly use this gun without being blown away by it. The breech also faces the left, instead of the right, so it's more of a sister gun to the Joshua, though it's magazines can hold the same amount of bullets that Joshua's are capable of. The bullets are different as well, being a slightly bigger 13mm, with a gold casing, a reinforced core for armor penetration, and each bullet being baptized and also explosive mercury.

This gun is beyond belief. No 13mm round was ever produced. A .50 alone would equal 12.7mm, meaning each bullet must be manufactured by Hellsing alone.

It's curious as to how this weapon can weigh 16kg when a full size 7.62X51mm machine gun only weighs 11kg, the weight is probably necessary to control that 13mm round, though with a gun this heavy you could probaly fire a .50cal BMG round and still have the same desired effect.

Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0
This was Seras's sidearm in the original Anime but was switched to a P226 in the OVA which would make a lot more sense for a British police officer.
Yan Valentine's gun - Customized FN P90s
The P90's appearance is unconventional, with an odd downward ejection port, but it's one of the more prized military SMGs, having formidable penetration power with the FN 5.7mm bullet, an rate of fire of 900 RPM, and even boasts a horizontal magazine that lies on top of the gun, which carries 50 bullets. Jan's version is considerably customized, first having part of the stock and handle removed, with a more conventional pistol grip placed instead, which allows for duel wielding, the original p90 was more geared toward two handed firing from the shoulder. A silencer has been added, along with an underbarrel laser dot sight. Of course, his eye sigil also adorns the side of the weapon. In the series, one had a long scope attached to it and the other a red dot sight.
Hallconnon cannon
Seras Victoria gets this big cannon later in the series. This is the weapon that Walter gives Seras in episode 5, "Brotherhood" and the OVA shows the same scene as well. Depsite the spelling of the name, Hallconnon, it is because the name is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the primary antagonists of the novel Dune, House Harkonnen. The cannon is almost hilariously oversized, but Seras soon handles it like a normal rifle because of her strength as a vampire. Walter saids that it uses depleted uranium shells, and high explosive rounds.

According to the anime, it's combat effective against all ground and aerial weapons except main battle tanks

It is effecively an artillary piece scaled down to so a person can hold it like a rifle, which Seras does from time to time. To reload, the ammo is breach loaded.
Wall of Guns
Seen in the first episode of the OVA. From what I can see, there's a Sig P220 series, an AK-74, an M16 with the three-pronged compensator [drawn upside down], a 1911, an M16 with the birdcage compensator, a Colt Python, or some other revolver with barrel ribbing, and a Franchi LM57 so far. Near the end of the wall of guns several muzzle loading muskets, one with a bayonet attached, can be seen.

And all these were apparently pointed at Alucard, but still not enough firepower to take down one of the most powerful vampires in existence.

Also in the original anime, this rifle was fully automatic, but in the OVA, Seras's only fires it in semi.
