[edit] M4A1 Carbine

Robert Neville (Will Smith) uses an M4A1 Carbine with ACOG sight attachment throughout the movie (earlier in the film, it has a Pentagon rail mounted flashlight and a laser sight, but these later vanish after the scene in which he captures the female vampire; perhaps they were damaged when he falls out of the window). M4A1s are also used by many of the military personnel seen evacuating Neville and his family from New York City during the flashback scenes.

Neville's (Will Smith) nightstand pistol is a Beretta M92FS or M9 (more likely the latter, since Neville is ex-military).

Robert Neville (Will Smith) draws a Smith & Wesson 5906 on Anna (Alice Braga) and Ethan (Charlie Tahan). The 5906 in the DAO setting is one of two pistols used by the NYPD, so it was likely recovered by Neville from an NYPD precinct.

Anna (Alice Braga) draws a Glock 19 on Robert Neville (Will Smith) during breakfast in Neville's home. As the Glock 19 is a common NYPD weapon, this gun was, again, likely taken from an NYPD precinct.
Two types of non-Russian AKMS copies (referred to in the show incorrectly as "AK-47s") are used by Larry Eugene Phillips Jr. (Andrew Bryniarski) and Emil Matasareanu (Oleg Taktarov). For much of the movie, the men use 100-round drum magazines when they engage the LAPD in the massive 44-minute shootout (though Matasareanu's AK has a 30-round magazine when he first enters the bank).
AKMS 7.62x39-mm
The first type used by the robbers is the Romanian-manufactured AIMS, distinguished by its side-folding skeleton stock and forward hand grip under the barrel. This is the type used by both men when they first enter the bank and for nearly all of the gun battle.
