Probably because, he was so amazed after experiencing one, after he got tortured in Season 2. He also used two of them when he thought his daughter was killed near the Season 1 finale. It seems the SIG silver slide was attracting to much attention for a genuine federal agent.

* Glock 17,18
* Heckler & Koch USP, USP Expert
* Heckler & Koch VP70
* FN FiveseveN
* Springfield Armory XD
* Walther P99
* Kimber Desert Warrior
* SIG-Sauer P226
* Browning Hi-Power
* Smith & Wesson 4506
^
All of these are must haves

Who wrote this? VP70, FiveseveN and Glock 18 are military issue only. The full auto and brust pistols are illegal for the commercial market and the FiveseveN and VP70 are no longer in production. I think some little COD fan is trying to make smart with the people who actually know their shit. The P99 weighs just over 600 grams making itabiut as heavy as a glock and lighter in weight than a 92F, M1911 and most other non polymer bodied pistols on the market. Fucking Noob! --Captain Snikt 02:31, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
::You're wrong about the VP70. It's not military issue only. I have one (and owned it since the early 1980s) I have everything on that list except the Glock 18, the USP Expert and the 4506. Personally I don't see the allure of having everything, except it's fun to mess around when you're bored. I'd still take the Glock into a gun fight before all others, unless there are specific requirements that other models will have and advantage with. Also, the VP70 is the LOWEST ranked gun on that list. I DON'T recommend it. :) MoviePropMaster2008 04:46, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Since James Bond has went back to using his old Walther PPk in Quantum of Solace, do you think he should have sticked to his old gun that whole time or use the Walther P99??? (Please note that this is just a matter of opinions.)
I think the P99 is something nice to be changed, 7 rounds of .32 .vs 15 of 9mm, you do the math. --FIVETWOSEVEN 03:52, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
:I never thought this switch to the P99 made sense, other than some marketing for Walther. He's a secret agent, it'd make sense for him to carry a weapon designed to be concealable. I can understand if he went for something bigger on some missions, like the dam mission at the beginning of Goldeneye, but overall I'm glad he's back with the PPK. If the producers want to appease Walther, I'd be okay with him switching over to a PPS or something. --Funkychinaman 06:40, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Funkychinaman that Bond should carry the Walter PPK every where because is concealable. on mission he carry's a wonder 9 handgun, and his PPK as aback up handgun.

I'd like to see him equipped with both, PPK for concealed carry and P99 for when he needs extra firepower and concealing his weapon isn't an issue. I don't really like the trigger guards on the post-2004 models though.

FBI Agent Renee Walker's sidearm
Can someone clear this up?

Is Renee Walker's sidearm Glock 23 or Glock 17? (I think someone actually listed her sidearm at Glock 17 in the Glock page).

Thanks in advance.

:Agent Walker's sidearm is a compact model she doe's not use a Glock 17. She is either using a Glock 23 or Glock 19 I'm still confirming the caliber once I look at the bore of the barrel you could just leave the Glock page blank of all 24 activity until I finish rescreencapping Season 7. However I still estimate I'll be done with Season 7 within 2 weeks.

::Whoever keeps changing this back to a Glock 23 is wrong in episode 3 you can look at the barrel of it it is clearly a 9mm not 40 cal thus making it a Glock 19 not a Glock 23. Plus look at Annie Wershing hands they couldn't handle a 40.

:::If the actress is using blank ammunition it does not matter whether her hands can handle the recoil of the firearm. Since January 1998, all new agents are trained on the 10×21mm (.40 S&W) Glock 22 pistols, with the smaller 10×21mm (.40 S&W) Glock 23 for those who prefer it. The ultra-compact 10×21mm (.40 S&W) Glock 27 is authorized as concealed backup. Older agents continue to field their SIG-Sauer pistols, if they wish, and even new agents can switch to the 9×19mm guns if they qualify with them. Until Season 7 is finished please post all comments on the discussions page and wait for confirmation from the screencaps.

::::You're thinking about it the wrong way. This is a TV show, not real life. Just because the FBI uses the Glock 22/23 in real life doesn't mean the same is true in this show. The Secret Service agents in this show use SIG P228s instead of 299R DAKs (their current real-life issue).

::::In Hollywood, most of the semi-auto pistols used are 9mms, because there was a time when gunsmiths in the industry found this caliber to be the most reliable with blanks. Armorers didn't start using newer calibers until fairly recently. When in doubt, we tend to assume a pistol used in a movie is a 9mm, and it's a safe bet here. If the armorer who worked on this show cared THAT much about realism, then they probably would have given the USSS agents the correct sidearm. That they didn't makes me pretty sure that Agent Walker's Glock is probably a 9mm G19. -MT2008

Live Free or Die Hard Armorer
Aside from the gun calibers has anybody noticed that this show uses the same guns as Live Free or Die Hard? I'm now thinking that if this is the same armorer that supplied Die Hard 4 and since gunmaster has identified the Glock 22's it's not so hard to believe that 24 may also be using .40S&W compatible firearms. I've only realized this since season 5.

:This show does not use the same weapons as Live Free or Die Hard. The weapons for that movie were rented mostly from Stembridge & Cinema Weaponry. I'm pretty sure that 24s weapons come mostly from Independent Studio Services (or at least, they did in the 7th season). Anyway, I've told you before: Unless you have some way of confirming it, you should assume that the Glocks in the show are 9mms. If the propmaster that worked on the show was going for realism (meaning, the correct Glock model for the FBI), then why did they use SIG P228s, which in real life are not used by the Secret Service anymore? -MT2008

::Yes I already know about that I just realized that after the 5th season of 24. It has had 13/21 weapons used by Live Free or Die Hard including 2 rare models that are just not seen very much on IMFDB. Especially the Beretta 92G Elite 1A used in Season 7. It was just interesting thing I couldn't get off my head. A Small Pistol was hidden in a car along with a handcuff key.

Saw a CTU Agent forced to give up his Glock, standard size model.

Other CTU Agents carried what looked like M933 with foregrips and c-more sights.

Looked like Terrorists were using a similar weapon to the M933.

The small pistol; looks to be a PPK, and their not 933's, just standard M4's. Glock 17's appear to be CTU standard issue so it's safe to assume that's what it was. --Crazycrankle 23:57, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Since when do terrorists use M4s?, they look more like HK416s to me. If they were using M4s, there would have been a report of those assault rifles being stolen from police, FBI, SWAT, CTU etc.
::: I noticed his blinking during the first few episodes of this season. I think it has more to do with the loud bang than the muzzle flash. They can't wear a big set of ear muffs, so they have to wear small plugs that barely muffle the sound. Also blinking is different than flinching. Flinching is when you close your eyes before you even fire, at least that's the way I see it. --Predator20 16:59, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Assault Rifles
Has anyone noticed that the terrorists are starting to use H&K G36Cs more than Ak47s?

:What's your point these terrorist's are well financed and have better training than average insurgent's in Afghanistan. I've definitely noticed it, the first time I saw a G36C in this show was in Season 5 Episode 9 and a G36K in the back of a CTU SUV in Season 2. You may be able to ship 20 terrorists to this country but not get a stash of AK47 crates through customs (not that it's ever been done). In a real life scenario your enemies preferred weapon of choice would be america's most popular assault rifle, the AR-15. Think about what assault rifle you would pick if you were supplying blank converted assault rifles to this show. -HKFan 10:23, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I just want to point things out and I obviously know the Taliban and Al Qadea aren't as well financed compared to the IRA or Colombian FARC. Also I will think about what assault rifles to pick and use against the enemies.

::The IRA isn't better financed than the Taliban or Al Qaeda. After the FBI started cracking down on its supporters in the U.S., and after MI-6 and Interpol shut down its connections to Libya, it was pretty much all over for them. -MT2008

Then how come back then American weapons are easily for them to obtain and smuggled compared to the Taliban or Al Qaeda? American weapons aren't cheap you know. Also I've never seen any Taliban or Al Qaeda in real life who are armed with American weapons.

:::They used AR-15s and AR-18s because their supporters in the U.S. bought those for them at U.S. gun stores and smuggled them to Ireland by boat. For much of its history, buying guns in the U.S. had always been the way the IRA procured arms. And if you read books like Ed Moloney's "A Secret History of the IRA", you'll find that this was not an efficient way to buy/receive weapons - the IRA was almost always short on small arms in the 1970s (there were never enough guns to go around), even though it spent a sizeable amount of its budget on weaponry. The FBI cracked down on the IRA's supporters in the U.S. beginning in the early-80s, and afterwards, the Provos were almost never able to buy guns in the U.S. again. The Libyan regime (and reportedly, the PLO and East Germany as well) became the IRA's new source of arms in the 1980s.

:::As for the Taliban, why would they need American weapons? Afghanistan and Pakistan are flooded with AKs and RPGs (mostly Chinese-made) that were shipped into the region by the CIA during the 1980s. And it isn't as though the quality of small arms determines the outcome in guerrilla war, let alone how effective or well-funded a particular group happens to be. Although Hezbollah does have enormous quantities of M16s and M4s (which they've been seen brandishing in photos). -MT2008 02:18, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

One more question does the Taliban uses other weapons in general besides the ones we keep seeing in their videoes? I always see TT33s, Makorov PMs, Ak47s and its variants, Dragunov sniper rifles, RPDs, RPKs, Pk machine guns and RPGs in their videoes, but could there possibly be others?

:::I really don't know. It's possible that they use weapons captured from U.S. or Afghan forces sometimes, though it wouldn't make much sense because ammo would be harder to acquire in the region for NATO weapons than Eastern Bloc/Chinese weapons. Either way, the one thing I know is that you're emphasizing weaponry too much. The types of small arms used by a particular terrorist/insurgent group are not an accurate reflection of its funding, or its capabilities - the only thing those weapons reflect is what's readily available at the arms bazaars in that area of the world. And most militants tend to use what's easiest and cheapest to acquire in their region, which in most of the world means AKs. The average terrorist group doesn't think to itself, "Let's go out and spend $1,000 per unit on H&K G36s because everyone will think we're badass operators if we pose with those guns in our YouTube videos." To them, weapons are tools to get a job done, and in guerrilla warfare, there's not much practical difference between an AK or a G36, anyway.

:::Also, contrary to what shows like Deadliest Warrior would have you believe, comparing a narco-insurgency like the Taliban or FARC to Al-Qaeda or the PIRA is actually a pretty retarded comparison. -MT2008 18:04, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
Trivia: I think it was kinda bullcrap that Tarin Faroush manages to kill four NYPD ESU officers with a pistol even though they were wearing body armour. That is unless the pistol is loaded with armour piercing rounds.

-The most reasonable reason explination is that contrary to popular belief as well SWAT teams don't wear the same level of body armour as Soldiers. Beyond the level of Kevlar that SWAT vests have, they do not carry ceramic ballistic plates seen in standered infantry body armour. Also the Caliber and type of bullet that Faroush had in his USP or MK23 plays a difference. Most Kevlar can stop 9mm holopoint rounds, but it is more difficult to stop 9mm rounds that are not holopoints such as FMJ rounds or Full Metal Jackets. Unlike holopoint rounds which mushrooms up on impact preventing any further penetration into the body, FMJ rounds continue to travel through the body untill it is slowed down after going through or punctering vital organs. That means FMJs will only slow down and maybe stop the round before it penetrates the lair of kevlar and enters the wearers body. Kevlar also has a hard time stoping .45 ACP rounds or anything beyond 9mm unless they have ceramic plates or more layers of Kevlar material.-Choi117

-Tarin takes down the three, and they go down instantly. Then his partner makes a few long range shots from the cab and somehow takes him out. Then at the docks jacks standard vest takes like 6 5.56mm rounds and hes still alive. Oh well, weve seen jack take down about 100 guys in bodyarmor with his pistol so far.

:Television is not a good place to be shooting people in the head neither is the realism of how strong there Kevlar is or even where they got shot. Jack Bauer is the kind of guy that wears his body armor outside his clothing more visible then SWAT teams. Seems like ever since 24 has switched directors the realism levels have gone down. -HKFan 23:07, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Shotguns on 24
Any ideas why none of the CTUs are issued with pump action shotguns in the entire series? We saw Jack and Cole used a Mossberg, but they weren't issued to them. Shotguns are rarely used by a terrorist or any other character. While the police use Remingtons.

:In Season 3 Episode 1 & 2 Jack and maybe his partner Chase Edmunds (James Badge Dale) have grabbed Remington 870's from an miniature lock and key armory in CTU Los Angeles to follow a lead supported by LAPD to go after a armed drug dealer. We also seen one standard issued in a back of a stolen FBI SUV in Season 7 Episode 18. Bottom line is CTU is a fictional agency that will make and armory look like a military grade gun store. They have already adopted the G36C to be the main weapon for most terrorists in the series. ==Taurus Judge, are you serious?==
Jack has like a full mag in the USP and pulls this little snubby, just as an excuse to use it on screen. The judge sucks, as a gun it doesnt deserve a breath of life....

:The Taurus Judge can fire .4410 shot shell rounds and .45 colt rounds it's not exactly a little snubby considering in has a 2 inch long cylinder but it's obvious that most audiences wouldn't know what round the gun fires or why he would use it. I think the new director of 24 "Michael Klick" sucks at weaponry I realized that Dana's suppressed SW99 jammed and was still firing in a split screen scene near the end of episode 20. -- HKFan 14:15, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

well also the new director threw realism to the wind, now pistols drop everyone in a single round, even people wearing body armor like a SWAT team. I also love how anybody but the main characters is useless in a fight

TPTB missed a perfectly good chance to use the revolver when Jack was threatening to kill Dana if she didn't get the video from the safety deposit box. Instead of pressing the USP into her chest and threatening to pull the trigger, he should've pulled out the revolver, dumped out all but one round, and told her she'd get no more than five chances to say no to him. --Funkychinaman 22:45, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Jack always manages to get a USP compact lol
You notice that the guy who meets jack in the beginning brings him a USP compact, then there happens to be one usp sitting alone in the CTU armory, and when he hijacks the chopper later the agent escorting him convienently has a USP compact for him to steal.

I also noticed in the entire series that most CTUs prefer a Glock or SIG, there's very little of them who use a Beretta, USP or Smith & Wesson.

Another Gun is Dana's Smith & Wesson SW99. She uses one to escape from CTU, then has another SW99 suppressed in the safety deposit box. It's one of the flaws to 24 which is never explained.
:Well, the safety deposit box is easy, it's HER safety deposit box. She obviously has a preference for SW99s. I don't know why it'd have a suppressor already attached in the safety deposit box though.
Cole's gun was loaded with blank rounds or dud rounds, you can see them in the magazine, when Jack hands him one with live rounds, so there wouldn't be any weight discrepancies, Cole wouldn't really have any reason to check the gun, as he was trying to make them believe Jack took him hostage, and therefore wanted to keep the gun hidden.--Pølaris 00:10, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Pistols so overused
Why is it that pistols are always used, even when assault rifles/ SMGs are availible? Like jack making a raid with a usp and judge when he had 2 mp7s?

:If you're talking about episode 20 I agree Jack could have brought along his MP7 but since he and Cole had to walk across the street in the open acting like pedestrians he probably couldn't conceal it in his jacket or find a appropriate bag. They never had suppressors or had any idea how many guards were inside so I wouldn't call it a raid. Assuming the guards were really private security they probably never brought along anything bigger than a shotgun or a full auto into their arsenal since they are in the state of New York gun laws. But you maybe right the writers never get that specific into weaponry like we do. -- HKFan 18:13, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
::They could've easily slung MP7s under their coats. I actually had assumed Jack had done so at first when I saw him crossing the street. And since there were only two of them, against who knows how many bad guys, you'd think he'd err on the side of caution. But then again, we're constantly overthinking it. --Funkychinaman 02:27, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Dana Walsh was huge waste of time and story to me. Who would have known that she will be killed off.

They still haven't mentioned Tony.

The portrayal of the NYPD was appalling and unrealistic. The director and writers don't know that they never used Beretta 92FSs in real life and I did not see a single officer throughout the season used a Glock or Smith & Wesson. This is New York not LA.

Maybe in the 24 universe they get to carry personal weapons instead of just department issued crap. I hate how they look so incompetent though. Like SWAT gewtting taken down by a guy with a pistol. And they should nevber have brought tony back, he should have just stayed dead (and a good guy.)

Season 8 is supposed to be set in 2018. That should explain alot and, Who knows what will change over the next decade.
Don't you think your reaction is somewhat over the top? You're acting like somebody just insulted your mother or somebody else equally important in your life. I'm pretty sure that imfdb also has a rule about flaming. --Jcordell 16:29, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
-um, not really a spoiler, it was in the preview for next weeks episode, iunless your one of the people who just use hulu....

::That's not a spoiler, it's pretty clearly implied from the preview that Jack Bauer captures Logan after shooting up a convoy of cars. Don't believe me? watch the link: 24 8x22 promo--Markit 04:11, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

How is that not a spoiler? It's information from an episode that hasn't aired, once you see or know about you can't go into the episode unaware because you've been SPOILED. Who's to say everyone watches the previews? When you watch a show on dvd you know what you see after it's over? The credits, not a preview, because that's not a real part of the show, that's some extra shit thrown in for the television airing to maintain or get more ratings next week. There's been many cases where a show's creators have disagreed with a preview that was aired for showing too much. Just because you might have no self control and no problem with spoiling every surprise you can don't assume everyone else does the same.

:It's not a spoiler because it doesn't exactly reveal what the context of the character's actions are, nor what particularly was going to happen. Honestly, if you had watched episode 21, were you going to be very surprised that Jack was going after Logan? You must be annoyed by any sort of trailer then, because they always reveal all sorts of juicy moments-EXCEPT they are revealed without knowing the specific plot elements which in themselves may be surprising. Sure, previews sometimes spell out more plot information than they should, but a preview is as much a real part of the show as the credits are, because like featurettes or interviews, it is ultimately tied to the network's overall efforts to promote the show to the audience. If we were to ever go by your reasoning, we should never post anything about upcoming shows or movies that we like, simply because they might "spoil" (putting it loosely) a scene that will happen, even if the circumstances leading up to it are completely different from what we expected. Get off your high horse and stop being so condescending- you did not have to tell me to f*ck off on something that any regular watcher of 24 will have expected given all the twists this season has offered.

::"preview is as much a real part of the show as the credits are, because like featurettes or interviews, it is ultimately tied to the network's overall efforts to promote the show to the audience."

::Sounds like a contradiction there to me. Is it a part of the show or a part of the networks efforts to promote it? And yeah, I don't care for trailers that show too much either. Expecting something to happen and knowing it will are two different things. In fact, expecting things to happen and something entirely different happening instead was what 24 was all about before it ended up just repeating the same handful of plot tropes and cliches repeatedly. If I knew what was going to happen in the finale should I just spoil it for everyone because I just assume everyone else expects it to happen?

A conundrum
Okay, so the M14-type rifle that Tokarev used to shoot Renee Walker appeared again. Jack very specifically identified it as a Springfield M1A. I think it's safe to assume Jack, as a trained agent, would know his guns. (And yet still expect fellow agents to fall for the empty gun trick, but still.) Do we list it as a Springfield M1A? Because I'll be honest, I don't know for sure if it's an EBR, I just looked through the M14 page and the EBR came the closest. Someone has already implied that it's not. What do we go with? --funkychinaman 20:20, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

The Walther PPK
There is no way you could yet know the PPK is his main weapon (that is unless they announced it, but I don't believe they have), it's more than likely going to be a P99, why would they go backwards? 69.23.137.224 07:07, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

It is his main weapon, why it is and how it comes about we don't yet know. The P99 is not used at all.

The P99 is never used, Mitchell has a SIG and Bond starts the chase WITH the PPK after drawing it from an IWB, he never acquires it during the chase. He has it before this. Another annoying bit of continuity that's messed up in this film.

I'm not so sure it's a continuity error, as the only gun we see him with until that point is his UMP9. Perhaps whatever armorer he deals with was unable to provide him with a P99?
-- What is a continuity error is we're supposed to assume that the opening car chase scene takes place immediately after he shoots Mr. White at the end of Casino Royale. However Bond is wearing completely different clothes!

In the very beginning of the first movie(not continuity wise) Dr. No, Bond's first Walther PPK is given to him as a replacement for his Beretta M1934. Before that one can assume he always used the Beretta. Who knows, maybe he'll go back to it in the next Daniel Craig film? :)

No offense to anyone but I think that its his Back-Up piece, after he did lose his p99 in the end of Casino Royale and he didn't really have time to get another gun, so other than putting his UMP in a sling and wearing a trenchcoat he did an excellent job, I mean even the french teach , improvise adapt overcome.

: They ought to give him a damn Walther PPS. It would be perfect for Bond and the pistol's commercial has a Bond-esque feel to it-S&Wshooter 01:50, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
The PPS would be an awesome sidearm for him I thank god that they never gave him a glock. The fact that he carries a Sig in some scenes just makes it better I mean It actually looks like he was SAS the way he handles it .
:If they gave him a Glock he would look like a Designated Firearms Officer. I don't think having him handle a gun like SAS is such a good thing due to the fact they get their asses handed to them by drunk Irishmen all the time-S&Wshooter 02:11, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
2 Questions:

If Bond loses his Walther after parachuting into the sinkhole, what is it that he surrender's to M's men in the hotel? A knife perhaps?

Second, not a gun question but one for sharp-eyed fans, anybody know what kind of beer Bond and Leiter are drinking at the bar before the CIA men try to capture Bond?

Knife
I believe Bond is carrying the knife he took off of Slate after he killed him. --humanzie3

GP100?
I don't know if the revolver that Bond found in the case was a S&W Model 60, but it's definitely not a GP100. I don't think they ever made a GP100 with a two inch barrel. Unless someone pointed it out in the commentary or in a special feature, I don't see any evidence that would indicate GP100. --funkychinaman 12:04, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

You are correct. That is a smith & wesson trigger and it has writing on the lower right hand side of the frame like a smith & wesson. Spades of Columbia

In addition to the above comment, the front sight on the gun strongly resembles that of a Smith & Wesson M&P revolver. -Gunman69 05:04, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

That revolver is a S&W M&P360 in a 5 round .357 mag. If you look under the cylinder you can actually see the M&P marking. Could someone change that for me. Spades of Columbia
