I wonder why the producers decided to change Jack's weapon from a Sig to an H&K.

Probably because, he was so amazed after experiencing one, after he got tortured in Season 2. He also used two of them when he thought his daughter was killed near the Season 1 finale. It seems the SIG silver slide was attracting to much attention for a genuine federal agent.

The lack of explanation for the change always bugged me. Both are excellent pistols, but I wish they would have made mention of the reasons behind the switch.

What Do you guys think about Mr. Sutherland's firearm handling ? I mean his grip is pretty good,(He does sometimes hold his gun in a weird way like holding it too high,sometimes holding it in the cup and saucer grip etc..) but i just can't seem to find many scenes of him displaying good trigger discpline. I got a few shots floating around the net in which he does display trigger discipline,but they are mostly promo shots, not shots directly from 24.

It's a pretty decent gun. Nice to hold, cool looking, and accurate. It's a bit heavy for a gun of it's size. I'd recomend this for your handgun collection. Here is a list of all semi-auto handguns I'd recomend.

Who wrote this? VP70, FiveseveN and Glock 18 are military issue only. The full auto and brust pistols are illegal for the commercial market and the FiveseveN and VP70 are no longer in production. I think some little COD fan is trying to make smart with the people who actually know their shit. The P99 weighs just over 600 grams making itabiut as heavy as a glock and lighter in weight than a 92F, M1911 and most other non polymer bodied pistols on the market. ::You're wrong about the VP70. It's not military issue only. I have one (and owned it since the early 1980s) I have everything on that list except the Glock 18, the USP Expert and the 4506. Personally I don't see the allure of having everything, except it's fun to mess around when you're bored. I'd still take the Glock into a gun fight before all others, unless there are specific requirements that other models will have and advantage with. I agree with Funkychinaman that Bond should carry the Walter PPK every where because is concealable. on mission he carry's a wonder 9 handgun, and his PPK as aback up handgun.

I'd like to see him equipped with both, PPK for concealed carry and P99 for when he needs extra firepower and concealing his weapon isn't an issue. I don't really like the trigger guards on the post-2004 models though.

:Agent Walker's sidearm is a compact model she doe's not use a [[Glock#Glock 17|Glock 17]]. She is either using a [[Glock#Glock 23|Glock 23]] or [[Glock#Glock 19|Glock 19]] I'm still confirming the caliber once I look at the bore of the barrel you could just leave the [[Glock]] page blank of all [[24]] activity until I finish rescreencapping Season 7. However I still estimate I'll be done with Season 7 within 2 weeks.

::Whoever keeps changing this back to a Glock 23 is wrong in episode 3 you can look at the barrel of it it is clearly a 9mm not 40 cal thus making it a Glock 19 not a Glock 23. Plus look at Annie Wershing hands they couldn't handle a 40.

::::You're thinking about it the wrong way. This is a TV show, not real life. Just because the FBI uses the Glock 22/23 in real life doesn't mean the same is true in this show. The Secret Service agents in this show use SIG P228s instead of 299R DAKs (their current real-life issue).

::::In Hollywood, most of the semi-auto pistols used are 9mms, because there was a time when gunsmiths in the industry found this caliber to be the most reliable with blanks. Armorers didn't start using newer calibers until fairly recently. When in doubt, we tend to assume a pistol used in a movie is a 9mm, and it's a safe bet here. If the armorer who worked on this show cared THAT much about realism, then they probably would have given the USSS agents the correct sidearm. Aside from the gun calibers has anybody noticed that this show uses the same guns as [[Live Free or Die Hard]]? I'm now thinking that if this is the same armorer that supplied Die Hard 4 and since gunmaster has identified the Glock 22's it's not so hard to believe that [[24]] may also be using .40S&W compatible firearms. I've only realized this since season 5.

:This show does not use the same weapons as ''[[Live Free or Die Hard]]''. The weapons for that movie were rented mostly from Stembridge & Cinema Weaponry. I'm pretty sure that ''[[24]]'''s weapons come mostly from Independent Studio Services (or at least, they did in the 7th season). Anyway, I've told you before: Unless you have some way of confirming it, you should assume that the Glocks in the show are 9mms. If the propmaster that worked on the show was going for realism (meaning, the correct Glock model for the FBI), then why did they use SIG P228s, which in real life are not used by the Secret Service anymore? -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]]

::Yes I already know about that I just realized that after the 5th season of [[24]]. It has had 13/21 weapons used by [[Live Free or Die Hard]] including 2 rare models that are just not seen very much on IMFDB. :There are no missing screencaps the real links are named Glock 23 after the "24S7E3". Not Glock 19. 5 weeks ago a anonymous user kept on changing the Glock 23 pictures and title to a Glock 19. I posted a message on his IP Address (not that he ever received it) to stop changing the title and pictures. He changed all the the links including the picture names to "Glock 19". Until I am finished screencapping Season 7 probably until late January nobody should edit Season 7. Based on his lack of editing skills and not checking his work I assume his experience is insufficient. Just watched this episode.

A Small Pistol was hidden in a car along with a handcuff key.

Saw a CTU Agent forced to give up his Glock, standard size model.

Other CTU Agents carried what looked like M933 with foregrips and c-more sights.

Looked like Terrorists were using a similar weapon to the M933.

Since when do terrorists use M4s?, they look more like HK416s to me. If they were using M4s, there would have been a report of those assault rifles being stolen from police, FBI, SWAT, CTU etc.

Coral Snake commandoes are basically a corrupt US army group and M4s were issued to them.

It's my understanding the reason for the bigger flash is to allow the camera to catch the flash in the film frame rather that between the frames.

:What's your point these terrorist's are well financed and have better training than average insurgent's in Afghanistan. I've definitely noticed it, the first time I saw a G36C in this show was in Season 5 Episode 9 and a G36K in the back of a CTU SUV in Season 2. You may be able to ship 20 terrorists to this country but not get a stash of AK47 crates through customs (not that it's ever been done). In a real life scenario your enemies preferred weapon of choice would be america's most popular assault rifle, the AR-15. I just want to point things out and I obviously know the Taliban and Al Qadea aren't as well financed compared to the IRA or Colombian FARC. Also I will think about what assault rifles to pick and use against the enemies.

One more question does the Taliban uses other weapons in general besides the ones we keep seeing in their videoes? I always see TT33s, Makorov PMs, Ak47s and its variants, Dragunov sniper rifles, RPDs, RPKs, Pk machine guns and RPGs in their videoes, but could there possibly be others?

It's possible that they use weapons captured from U.S. or Afghan forces sometimes, though it wouldn't make much sense because ammo would be harder to acquire in the region for NATO weapons than Eastern Bloc/Chinese weapons. Either way, the one thing I know is that you're emphasizing weaponry too much. The types of small arms used by a particular terrorist/insurgent group are not an accurate reflection of its funding, or its capabilities - the only thing those weapons reflect is what's readily available at the arms bazaars in that area of the world. And most militants tend to use what's easiest and cheapest to acquire in their region, which in most of the world means AKs. The average terrorist group doesn't think to itself, "Let's go out and spend $1,000 per unit on H&K G36s because everyone will think we're badass operators if we pose with those guns in our YouTube videos." To them, weapons are tools to get a job done, and in guerrilla warfare, there's not much practical difference between an AK or a G36, anyway.

Trivia: I think it was kinda bullcrap that Tarin Faroush manages to kill four NYPD ESU officers with a pistol even though they were wearing body armour. That is unless the pistol is loaded with armour piercing rounds.

-The most reasonable reason explination is that contrary to popular belief as well SWAT teams don't wear the same level of body armour as Soldiers. Beyond the level of Kevlar that SWAT vests have, they do not carry ceramic ballistic plates seen in standered infantry body armour. Also the Caliber and type of bullet that Faroush had in his USP or MK23 plays a difference. Most Kevlar can stop 9mm holopoint rounds, but it is more difficult to stop 9mm rounds that are not holopoints such as FMJ rounds or Full Metal Jackets. Unlike holopoint rounds which mushrooms up on impact preventing any further penetration into the body, FMJ rounds continue to travel through the body untill it is slowed down after going through or punctering vital organs. That means FMJs will only slow down and maybe stop the round before it penetrates the lair of kevlar and enters the wearers body. Kevlar also has a hard time stoping .45 ACP rounds or anything beyond 9mm unless they have ceramic plates or more layers of Kevlar material.-[[User:Choi117|Choi117]]

Any ideas why none of the CTUs are issued with pump action shotguns in the entire series? We saw Jack and Cole used a Mossberg, but they weren't issued to them. Shotguns are rarely used by a terrorist or any other character. While the police use Remingtons.

:In Season 3 Episode 1 & 2 Jack and maybe his partner Chase Edmunds ([[James Badge Dale]]) have grabbed [[Remington Model 870 Shotgun#Remington 870|Remington 870's]] from an miniature lock and key armory in CTU Los Angeles to follow a lead supported by LAPD to go after a armed drug dealer. We also seen one standard issued in a back of a stolen FBI SUV in Season 7 Episode 18. Bottom line is CTU is a fictional agency that will make and armory look like a military grade gun store. They have already adopted the [[Heckler & Koch G36#Heckler & Koch G36C|G36C]] to be the main weapon for most terrorists in the series. And Jack of course can't figure out how to flip his [[Heckler & Koch MP7#Heckler & Koch MP7|MP7's]] iron sights up. You notice that the guy who meets jack in the beginning brings him a USP compact, then there happens to be one usp sitting alone in the CTU armory, and when he hijacks the chopper later the agent escorting him convienently has a USP compact for him to steal.

I also noticed in the entire series that most CTUs prefer a Glock or SIG, there's very little of them who use a Beretta, USP or Smith & Wesson.

Another Gun is Dana's Smith & Wesson SW99. She uses one to escape from CTU, then has another SW99 suppressed in the safety deposit box. It's one of the flaws to 24 which is never explained.

What about revolvers?

Well, video game logic says all revovlers are magnums and they are usaully more powerful than full sized rifles. In movies they dont fire enough bullets and theres to many john woo wannabees who just want to direct a movie showing hundreds of rounds going everywhere.

Maybe in the 24 universe they get to carry personal weapons instead of just department issued crap. I hate how they look so incompetent though. Like SWAT gewtting taken down by a guy with a pistol. And they should nevber have brought tony back, he should have just stayed dead (and a good guy.)

Season 8 is supposed to be set in 2018. That should explain alot and, Who knows what will change over the next decade.

How is that not a spoiler? It's information from an episode that hasn't aired, once you see or know about you can't go into the episode unaware because you've been SPOILED. Who's to say everyone watches the previews? When you watch a show on dvd you know what you see after it's over? The credits, not a preview, because that's not a real part of the show, that's some extra shit thrown in for the television airing to maintain or get more ratings next week. There's been many cases where a show's creators have disagreed with a preview that was aired for showing too much. Just because you might have no self control and no problem with spoiling every surprise you can don't assume everyone else does the same.

Okay, so the M14-type rifle that Tokarev used to shoot Renee Walker appeared again. Jack very specifically identified it as a Springfield M1A. I think it's safe to assume Jack, as a trained agent, would know his guns. (And yet still expect fellow agents to fall for the empty gun trick, but still.) Do we list it as a Springfield M1A? Because I'll be honest, I don't know for sure if it's an EBR, I just looked through the M14 page and the EBR came the closest. Someone has already implied that it's not. It is his main weapon, why it is and how it comes about we don't yet know. The P99 is not used at all.

I'm not so sure it's a continuity error, as the only gun we see him with until that point is his UMP9. Perhaps whatever armorer he deals with was unable to provide him with a P99?
-- What is a continuity error is we're supposed to assume that the opening car chase scene takes place immediately after he shoots Mr. White at the end of Casino Royale. However Bond is wearing completely different clothes!

In the very beginning of the first movie(not continuity wise) Dr. No, Bond's first Walther PPK is given to him as a replacement for his Beretta M1934. Before that one can assume he always used the Beretta. Who knows, maybe he'll go back to it in the next Daniel Craig film? :)

No offense to anyone but I think that its his Back-Up piece, after he did lose his p99 in the end of Casino Royale and he didn't really have time to get another gun, so other than putting his UMP in a sling and wearing a trenchcoat he did an excellent job, I mean even the french teach , improvise adapt overcome.
