A Springfield Armory 1911-A1 is the primary handgun of all the players, if a second one is obtained, they can be dual wielded, but the second one does not have a flashlight. Oddly enough, the weapon has a 15-round magazine, but they never run out of total ammunition. They are Zoey's primary weapon in the intro film and the trailers. ==Uzi==
A Full-sized uzi with a 50-round magazine and a flashlight taped to the hand guard is the other First Tier weapon. It is Louis' main weapon in the Intro film, in game, and in the trailers, Zoey and Bill also use it in game.
Based on the prototype 4.6x30mm Heckler & Koch "Ultimate Combat Pistol," the Heckler & Koch P30, and the Heckler & Koch Mark 23. It is the standard sidearm in the game, and is wielded by both North Koreans and US Marines; US Nanosuit soldiers carry it as a backup weapon. It can be dual wielded, set to a two-round burst firing mode, suppressed and / or equipped with a laser / flashlight combination attachment. The weapon's name is a reference to 24, which the game's creators are apparently fans of; similarly, the game files refer to the highest difficulty setting called "Delta" as "Bauer."

*The gun also shares parts from a Walther P99. Notice the grip and the ambidextrous mag release. -- GuyIncognito

AY-69 SMG
Found only in Crysis Warhead, the AY-69 is a North Korean-made compact version of the MPX8 that takes up the handgun slot and can be dual wielded. Like the MPX8, it is based on the MP7, and is even more similar to that weapon than its larger cousin. The idea of a weapon family consisting of a full-size SMG and sidearm-scale 'pistol' is probably based on the Uzi and Micro Uzi.

MPX8
The MPX8 is mostly used by more specialised North Korean units; night forest patrols and some combat teams make use of it, and is is usually carried as a close-ranged weapon by Korean Nanosuit soldiers and a primary one by men equipped with LAWs. It closely resembles a Heckler & Koch MP7A1 albeit somewhat longer and uses an extended magazine containing fifty 4.6x30mm rounds. The MPX8 has the same modification options as the SCAR, save that it lacks an underbarrel mount point.

SCAR
The weapon used by the Marines and US Nanosuit soldiers, including both player characters, is actually a Heckler & Koch XM8 chambered for 6.8x43mm; this implies that in Crysis world, the XM8 won the SOCOM SCAR competition rather than the FN Mk.16 and Mk.17 as in real life. As with the majority of weapons in Crysis, the SCAR can be customised in-game; the player can attach either a reflex sight [an EOTech-style dot scope], assault scope [an ACOG-style telescopic reflex sight, which, for some reason, has a TDS Plex reticle with the hash marks upside down] or a sniper scope [a x4 / x10 variable zoom precision scope with a built-in rangefinder] to the upper rail. The forearm side rail accepts a two-mode module that functions as either flashlight or laser sight. The underbarrel mount accepts a grenade launcher with a built-in rangefinding function that provides a reference point for aiming at a set target, or a bizarre device called the 'Tactical Attachment' that functions as a self-replenishing, completely silent dartgun. Finally, a suppressor can be attached.

The SCAR is by far the more powerful of the two assault rifles when using normal ammunition, and also has a 40-round magazine as opposed to the FY71's 30; however, this is balanced in the campaign of Crysis with the extreme rarity of the SCAR or ammo for it; with the exception of the final level, SCAR magazines are almost exclusively restricted to a single location at the very start of a given mission. This was the source of some complaint, and in Crysis Warhead SCAR magazines are common enough that the weapon can be used as the player's main armament throughout the campaign.

The SCAR is also among the weapons usable in the missions set inside the "Sphere" created when the aliens emerge; the temperature of this anomaly is stated to be "200 below," and regardless of whether this is Fahrenheit or Celsius, at such a temperature atmospheric gases would have started to fall in solid or liquid states; at -200 Celsius, it would be raining liquid nitrogen. Obviously, a firearm could not reasonably be expected to function in such conditions.

FY71
The FY71 is the main weapon for the North Korean soldiers in-game. It is actually based on the AK-74M, chambered for 5.45x39mm. Like the SCAR, it features the ability to be customised. It features all the same modification options as the SCAR, with a single addition; it can fire incendiary bullets as well as regular rounds.

Tactical Shotgun
The shotgun in Crysis is based on the Benelli M4 Super 90 but is operated by pump-action. It uses 12 gauge shells (fed from an 8-round integral tube magazine) and has an adjustable choke that can increase or decrease the spread. Unlike most video game shotguns the Crysis shotgun has fairly realistic accuracy. It can be equipped with all scopes and the laser / flashlight module. It is used by both KPA and US troops.

DSG-1
The DSG-1 Precision Rifle is a straight-pull bolt-action rifle, first encountered equipped with the assault scope during the second mission of Crysis. Seemingly an exclusively Korean weapon, it is used by their snipers [US snipers instead using the GK8 Gauss Rifle] and by most Korean Nanosuit soldiers. A very high-powered weapon, a single shot will kill regular soldiers, while a couple of rounds aimed at the tail rotor will even bring down a helicopter.

As the name implies, it is based on the DSR-1 with a forward mounted 10 round detachable box magazine and barrel that resembles that of the Heckler & Koch PSG-1.

GK8 Gauss Rifle
Used by US Marines and the player characters, this is a bolt-action magnetic accelerator that functions similarly to the sniper rifle, but with a substantially more potent round. The name and upper mount rail suggest it is based on the Heckler & Koch SL8 rifle.

Hurricane Minigun
A homage to Predator's hand-held M134 Minigun, the Hurricane Minigun can only be used by nanosuit soldiers (both the player and the North Korean commandos). It fires from a 500-round drum magazine and can be equipped with a laser sight (quite useful as the minigun doesn't have iron sights) or a flashlight. In Warhead, a mounted version can be seen on vehicles and in fixed installations, which does have an iron sight.

FGL40 Grenade Launcher
The FGL40 is a Korean revolver-style six-round grenade launcher exclusive to Crysis Warhead and first found in the second mission, "Shore Leave." It fires either conventional high explosive rounds or special electro-magnetic pulse rounds that disable enemy electronic equipment, such as Nanosuits and vehicles. In addition, the rounds are next-generation 'smart' grenades, and can be set to either impact or command detonation; the user is able to lay down a number of grenades and set them all off with a single command, or use the command detonation to create lethal airbursts. For some reason, it can also mount a flashlight.

The FGL40 is based on the Milkor MGL grenade launcher.

LAW Missile Launcher
The LAW missile launcher is partly based on the real LAW and partly on the multi-shot rocket launcher from Far Cry, which in turn was based extremely loosely on the M202 FLASH rocket launcher. The Crysis LAW is a pre-loaded, disposable three-shot anti-vehicle weapon which fires laser-guided missiles, fitted with an optic sight which stows by folding into the top of the weapon; the flared front of the device contains the missiles, which all share a single common exhaust tube. The rear part of the launcher tube is extended as part of the arming procedure, as with the real-life M72 LAW.

Soldiers seen carrying LAWs usually stow them on their back in the extended position; Korean soldiers are sometimes seen with them, and in Warhead an American Nanosuit team is encountered who are armed with LAWs and Gauss rifles.

TAC Launcher & PAX Plasma Accumulator Cannon
The TAC Launcher is a large hand-held grenade launcher designed to fire a computer-guided nuclear round with a yield of several dozen tons, and is used by Nomad to fight Crysis final boss; it is impossible to fire it without a lock. The launcher itself is largely a work of fiction, but the barrel bears a striking resemblance to that of the Mk. 47 Mod 0 grenade launcher, while the idea of a man-portable nuclear weapon is likely based on the "Davey Crockett" nuclear recoilless rifle. An even more far-fetched weapon seen in Crysis Warhead, the PAX Plasma Accumulator Cannon, recycles the TAC Launcher model verbatim with the sole addition of a laser pointer on the upper mount rail, though it functions as a short-ranged, slow-loading supergun.

Type 88 "Shi Ten" Machine Gun
All mounted general purpose machine guns in Crysis and Crysis Warhead are based on the Chinese-made Type 88 GPMG. The Type 88 is the most common armament on light vehicles and is used in both the hatch and coaxial mounts on tanks. They can also be seen in numerous fixed installations mounted on tripods or monopods. Their cover can be destroyed, but the guns themselves are invincible. Regardless of how they're mounted, they have infinite ammunition and are governed by a heat gauge.

As is often the case in video games, the player is assumed to be commander, driver and gunner during this sequence, while an NPC Marine mans the Type 88 on the commander's hatch. The Atlas tank is based on the American M1A1 Abrams, British Challenger I and Israeli Merkava 3; curiously, all outdated versions of the respective tank.]]

ASV Anti-Vehicle 20mm
A Korean 20mm heavy machine gun is seen in Crysis Warhead mounted both in fixed positions and on vehicles, and fires high-explosive rounds. One of the deadliest weapons in the game, a handful of shots will take down almost anything, and the rounds have significant splash.

M242 Bushmaster autocannon and TOW-2 missile
Crysis Korean infantry fighting vehicles are very closely based on the American M2A1 Bradley, and feature a nearly exact copy of the M242 Bushmaster autocannon, even down to the distinctive fluted barrel. In addition, they mount a box launcher for a pair of missiles; while these are not identified, the launcher is copied from the TOW-2 launcher on the Bradley.

[[Image:KoreanIFV2.jpg|thumb|600px|none|Korean IFV on the runway in Crysis Warhead's final mission. The IFV is slightly different in Crysis, particularly in how the main gun handles.

Helicopter gatling guns
A three-barrel rotary gun bearing some similarity both to the M197 Vulcan and the Mi-24 Hind's Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B gatling gun [sharing the triple layout and length of the former and the untapered barrel cluster and twin barrel clamps near the muzzle of the latter] is seen mounted on Korean WZ-19 helicopters and US Marine Corps VTOLs.

[[Image:crysis-wars-helicopter.jpg|thumb|600px|none|Korean WZ-19 attack helicopter; these are troop-carrying gunships with design elements from the Russian Mi-24 and Chinese CAIC WZ-10, and carry a three-barrel gatling in their chin installation. [[Image:crysis1_large.jpg|thumb|600px|none|American Marine Corps VTOLs are armed with a vulcan cannon, and serve a similar purpose to the Korean helos.
General Electric M61 20mm Vulcan cannon
General Electric M61 Vulcan rotary guns are seen in Phalanx naval CIWS mounts on US carriers in both games, and in Crysis are also used by the Constitution's escorts to fire at the swarms of attacking aliens after the nuclear strike against the Sphere.

C4 Demolition Pack
A remote-triggered demolition charge that can be thrown or attached to surfaces. The M112 shown on the game's charge is in fact the real name of a US C4 demolition charge; the Crysis C4 is made from three blocks attached together with duct tape.

Anti-Tank Mine
The Crysis anti-tank mine is based on the Croatian TMRP-6. A very similar model is used in Crysis as a Korean antipersonnel mine, though the device is substantially smaller; these mines flip up into the air prior to detonating, and are used as part of the layered defences of a Korean-fortified town. The anti-tank mine itself is only usable in Crysis multiplayer, but is available in Crysis Warhead's singleplayer.

Claymore Mine
The Claymore in Crysis is depicted as a directional proximity triggered antipersonnel mine, and is used by Korean forces to booby-trap fences in one of their outposts. In Crysis Warhead, it is usable by the player.

Fragmentation Grenade
Crysis basic frag grenades are based on the M26 hand grenade, though for some reason they lack either safety levers or, more worryingly, pins.

Flashbang Grenade & Smoke Grenade
Both of these grenades are variations of the same model, which is based on the American M84 flashbang grenade; smoke grenades are marked with a red stripe across their midsection, while flashbangs have a grey-blue stripe. Both are used to incapacitate enemies; the smoke is effectively a portable wall as far as the AI is concerned, totally blocking line of sight, while flashbangs will render enemies in their blast range completely defenceless for a moment. Oddly, these grenades have both pins and safety levers present.

The following guns were seen used in this post apocalyptic world. Most were just based from REAL life guns. No blasters or plasma rifles, or dart guns.

AK - "Chinese Assault Rifle"
One of the more powerful ARs in the game, but also not the most accurate. This rifle seems to be based on several AK variants. In the game, it was designed and manufactured by Chinese industrial conglomerate Norinco for the People's Liberation Army during the Resource Wars. This AK fires 5.56 NATO. It has the overall appearance of the AK family of weapons, specifically the AK-107 assault rifle (barrel, muzzle brake, gas tube, front sight), but also it is like the RPD machine gun (front handguard, possibly rear sight) and also the Type 56-II assault rifle, of actual Chinese production, although only for export, the metallic folding frame stock.

R91 Assault Rifle
An H&K G3 based assault rifle. The number in the name obviously references the H&K 91, and cosmeticlly, it looks like the Spanish CETME rifles, but the biggest thing is that, in game, this assault rifle firest 5.56 NATO like the AK in the game. Or it could have been modeled after the CETME B or L model which are chambered in 5.56. Ingame wise, the most likely reason for the same ammo as the AK was to not worry about different types of ammo for 2 assault rifles that are so common in the game.

Smith & Wesson Model 29
This was more of a reference to the Road Warrior movie since it has a scope attached to it. In the game, it fires, accurately, the .44 Magnum. An unscoped version is used be the mysterious stranger if you get the perk that features him. The unscoped version cannot be acquired without a cheat or something.
10mm SMG
The only submachinegun in the game, and it's outward appearance almost seems like it is based on the MP5K without the foregrip and a more boxy looking upper reciever. It may also resemble the Special Weapons MP-10 dressed up with additional parts.

Several verisons of the same design is used in the game. It's hard to tell what this rifle was based after, but it fires .308 rounds.

It looks like it was based on either the Russian SV98 or the Blaser 93-TheDon152
Combat Shotgun
This fictional shotgun has an overall appearence of the PPSh-41 from the fire selector switch located inside the trigger guard, the barrel's protruding muzzle-brake and the drum magazine. The way the reloading procedure is operated also points to the real PPSh-41, but this weapon acts more like an Armsel Striker shotgun

.32 Hunting Rifle
It is a Mauser-type bolt-action rifle, and resembles such the Remington 700 and Winchester 70 series. It uses the .32 Caliber Round. It is interesting to note that while this is a very accurate weapon, the in-game weapon model does not have rear or front sights, nor does it have a scope. In reality, this would make the weapon extremely difficult to aim at longer ranges and would render it almost totally worthless beyond close-range encounters, even to a skilled marksman.

Lincoln's Repeater
Ok, this weapon, althought named Lincoln's Repeater was obviously intended to be based off of Lincoln's Spencer rifle, but the design of this rifle ingame, and how it was loaded is that of a Henry rifle, 15 rounds of a .44 caliber black powder cartridge rimfire rifle or the .44 Henry round. This rifle also has a wooden handguard in front, very similar to a Winchester Model 1866. And it is possible to modify the rifle to fire .44 Magnum rounds, but it was more a thing in the game so that you can find a semi-commong ammo type that can be found in the game than anything else. Despite what the creators had intended, they got their rifles mixed up when they called this rifle "Lincoln's Repeater".

::Wasn't it the SPENCER rifle that was presented to Lincoln, NOT the Henry rifle?
::On August 18, 1863, Christopher Spencer walked into the White House carrying one of his rifles and a supply of cartridges. He walked past the sentries, and into Abraham Lincoln's office. After some discussion, he returned the following afternoon, when Spencer and Lincoln were joined by Edwin Stanton, Secretary of War and other officials, and the group then proceeded to walk out on the Mall. Near the site of the Washington Monument, they engaged in target shooting. Subsequent to that meeting, the U.S ordered some 13,171 rifles and carbines, along with some 58 million rounds of ammunition (source: Wikipedia)

:Today, they make replicas fire whatever they want. Uberti makes a .44 Magnum Henry. (Henry now makes a .44 Magnum "Big Boy", but that is a completely new gun) - Gunmaster45

:Don't hate yourself, he was presented a Henry at some point. The gun seen in For a Few Dollars More is replica model of that gun. They even sell a modern replica today. - Gunmaster45

This rifle is intented to be the Lincoln's Henry Rifle, offered to President Abraham Lincoln, with golden ornaments, but the rifle has in the game a wooden handguard on the forend similar to the Winchester 1866. == 10mm Pistol ==

Now, I'm not quite sure, but I do believe that the 10mm pistol is basically a dressed up IMI Desert Eagle. You can tell by the grip, and serrated end of the slide that it is the Desert Eagle. Can someone verify this?

IMI Desert Eagle
The main pistol is a Desert Eagle .50 AE which is exceptionally weak (in the game), but has good range and accuracy. The drawback on the gun is the muzzle climb whenever you fire.

Franchi Spas 12
The main shotgun in the game is a Franchi SPAS 12. It is a twelve gauge shotgun with a powerful punch which can blow someone's head up with a couple rounds to the head. Like all of the guns in the game, muzzle climb is a drawback.

Look at the screenshot you posted under the entry for the Desert Eagle...that is clearly a Remington 870 with a pistol grip and folding stock kit.

No, although, similar, the Remington 870 has a longer barrel, a different pump, and a different stock. Also, the 870 is smaller in comparison, and the image is listed as the SPAS. But it is very similar.

:Here is a picture we have under the Remington 870 entry:

:This looks FAR more like the shotgun in the game than the SPAS-12 (except that this one lacks a heat shield, unlike the one in the game). Remember that the 3D in-game model is never going to be perfectly proportional and accurate to the real firearm, but it seems clear to me that the artists used a folding-stock Remington 870 with a heat shield as their reference.

Yeah, that's cool, but I looked at some pictures of the game again, and I noticed that there is a section on the barrel in the game which contains venting holes near the chamber, and I've never seen that on an 870. And I also noticed that the ejector port on the shotgun (in-game) is on the other side of the gun. I've seen all of these things in a SPAS, but I haven't in an 870. Is there any models like that? (I'm serious, my expertise in weapons goes into Pistols, Sub-machines, machines etc, etc, but not shotguns.)

:I've looked at some screenshots from the game showing the gauge (i.e. http://www.postal2.com/postal2/screenshots/factory4.jpg). To be honest, that heat shield looks a bit more like the ones available for the Mossberg M590 than the 870. But everything else about the gun screams Remington 870 folder, particularly the holes on the top of the folding stock (you can see them in the pic of the 870 I posted...barely). The SPAS-12 also has holes on the sides of the arms of its folding stock...the shotgun in Postal 2 doesn't.

:As far as the left-hand ejection port goes, there is no shotgun I've ever seen that has that (certainly not the SPAS-12 or the 870). It's just something many game developers tend to do because they think the gun needs to be able to eject shells from the player's perspective even if the player is right-handed. All of the Counter-Strike guns are the same way; it's not at all accurate, just a bit of artistic license.

So I guess we still don't know the type of shotgun, huh? Well, I guess I might just write this down as an unknown shotgun. That alright with you?

:I dunno, I still stand by my belief that it was modeled on an 870 folder.

Well, I guess, I'll just let you do what you want with it. I'm still confused.

M16A2
The M16A2 is the sole automatic rifle in the game. It has a medium powered punch, but can take down gangs easily. The range goes quite far but the accuracy sucks.

M26 hand grenade
This is the sole grenade in the game. The M26's blast radius is pretty far and is extraordinarily strong. Nice for taking out the bands and protesters in the game! KABOOM

Remington M40 sniper rifle
The Remington M40 sniper rifle is the only sniper rifle in the game. The rate of fire is exceptionally slow and is useless if not used with the help of the scope that is attached to the top of the rifle. If not, the accuracy is very very very very bad. If not used, the damage ratio goes down as well.

M136 AT4
This is one of the two rocket launchers in the game. Basically the M136 AT4 is just a grenade launcher with farther range in distance and has a heat seeker capability.

M16A2
The M16A2 is the sole automatic rifle in the game. It has a medium powered punch, but can take down gangs easily. The range goes quite far but the accuracy sucks.
The rate of fire is exceptionally slow and is useless if not used with the help of the scope that is attached to the top of the rifle. If not, the accuracy is very very very very bad. If not used, the damage ratio goes down as well.

Combat Knife
The combat knife is a small, simple Bowie knife, offering improved damage compared to fists, but severely lacking when it's compared to firearms. With the knife enabled, you are able to preform silent stealth kills on enemies in the game.

Baseball Bat
A sturdy, reliable Alabama Lie Detector. Simple and effective, but possibly less effective than the knife.
Handguns:
Glock 17
The standard handgun in Grand Theft Auto IV is visably a Glock 17. It is used by the police, as well as various other characters throughout the game.

IMI Desert Eagle
The .50 Desert Eagle, called a 'Combat Pistol' in the game, is the more powerful handgun in GTA IV, and is used by a variety of characters throughout the game.

Shotguns:
Compact shotgun
The shotgun, a "shorty" entry shotgun, is used by various gang members and police. The shotgun is difficult to place in reality, with many features similar to a Winchester 3000 but also a Remington Model 870.

Combat shotgun,
The Combat Shotgun is available later in the game, and can be obtained from Police Cars. Similar to the Compact Shotgun, this weapon is very difficult to place in reality, but with resemblance to a Beretta 1201FP

IWI Micro Uzi
The Micro Uzi is used by assorted criminals in Liberty City. The weapon has a standard clip size of 50 rounds and a fast rate of fire, but severely lacking in accuracy.

SW MP-10
The MP-10 is standard issue to the LCPD SWAT teams and various gang members.

Colt M4A1 Carbine
The M4 Carbine is issued to certain members of the LCPD, including the SWAT team and airport police. Interestingly, the M4 in the game has the carrying handle detached, revealing the unused R.I.S rail underneath and a H&K style rear sight attached.

Sniper Rifles:
Remington 700/M40A1
The basic, bolt action sniper rifle featured in the game is the Remington 700. It is used by the majority of marksmen in the game. The gun appears to have undergone slight customization, with a 10 round magazine fitted, yet only holds 5.

Heckler & Koch PSG1
The semi automatic sniper rifle is a PSG1. Pinpoint accuracy but overpriced in the game. Holds 10 rounds.

Heavy Weapons
R.P.G-7
The R.P.G-7 is the only rocket launcher in the game. Each warhead has a 3 second fuse from pulling the trigger.

Miscellaneous
The Remington M40 sniper rifle is the only sniper rifle in the game. The rate of fire is exceptionally slow and is useless if not used with the help of the scope that is attached to the top of the rifle. If not, the accuracy is very very very very bad. If not used, the damage ratio goes down as well.
Urine
Yes, you read that right. For real, you can use the main character's urine as a weapon. Really. Try peeing in the faces of all the other pedestrians and see what happens!

This is one of the two rocket launchers in the game. Basically the M136 AT4 is just a grenade launcher with farther range in distance and a heat seeker capability.

IMI Desert Eagle
The main pistol is a Desert Eagle .50 AE which is exceptionally weak (in the game), but has good range and accuracy. The drawback on the gun is the muzzle climb whenever you fire.
Franchi Spas 12
Franchispas.JPG
The main shotgun in the game is a Franchi Spas 12. It is a twelve gauge shotgun with a powerful punch which can blow someone's head up with a couple rounds to the head. Like all of the guns in the game, muzzle climb is a drawback.

M16A2
The M16A2 is the sole automatic rifle in the game. It has a medium powered punch, but can take down gangs easily. The range goes quite far but the accuracy sucks.
