A CTS Model 7290M Mini Bang, modified (apparently) by Independent Studio Services to be the fictional EFS Model 6500G (presumably for legal reasons), is used in the film. Notably, the new address on the prop is ISS's actual address and the U.S. patent number actually corresponds with a patent for a "pumping assembly for well fluids" filled in 1955.
105 Howitzer
Three 105 Howitzers were ordered for the movie. The two shown on screen belong to Gary Harper, Weapons Expert and Owner of Harperhaus Weapons. The upper shields were removed and the hydraulic system modified to recoil while using special blank ammunition designed by Gary Harper for the movie.
In one episode, a viewer asks Gunny who had the better rifle during the Civil War. The two most generic rifles were selected, the Union rifle being a Springfield 1861 rifle. In the end, Gunny decides that the Springfield was the superior weapon. They did win the war after all.
LeMat 1861
Shown as the prefered weapon of cavalary riders is the LeMat 1861 revolver. This is likely because it fired nine rounds plus a shotgun round before having to reload.
Browning M2HB machine guns are seen many times throughout season two. Probably the most notable being the episode on Marine soldier training, in which Gunny gets to man a .50 caliber designed for indoor training at Camp Pendleton, using gas tanks to fire and recoil realistically like the real deal.
As always, Gunny has his M1 Garand stored in the saddle on his jeep. We once again see him fire the M7 grenade launcher from the rifle, although we actually see what the dummy grenade does instead of a rather lame joke about hitting someone's truck and having enough insurance to cover it.
Browning Automatic Rifle
We see some goofs from the episode in Season 2 when Gunny fires the BAR, which prooves to be far more unreliable than we see on the aired episode.

Browning M2HB
Gunny is seen firing a Browning M2HB on an anti-aircraft mount into the air. Hopefully the location he is shooting at has been cleared for 5 miles because firing .50 BMGs into the air is very dangerous.

Liberator
Gunny tries out a Liberator pistol for the show. This gun was a single shot .45 ACP dropped to resistance fighters during WWII as a weapon designed to shoot someone and take their weapon. The gun has a 4 round reserve in the grip so the soldier can fire it five times before it becomes useless. The Liberator took all of seven seconds to make in a factory, which makes it the only firearm that takes longer to load than to make. Sadly, all the Liberators were melted down or dumped in the ocean so vintage examples are very hard to find.

The Last Samurai is a 2003 historical war film that stars Tom Cruise as a disillusioned Civil War veteran who travels to Japan to help wipe out the Samurai, but then comes to learn their ancient ways after he is captured.
In the beginning of the film, Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) shows off and fires a Winchester 1873 at a trade show, according to Nathan it is a lever action rifle with a seven shot capacity. Zebulon Gant (Billy Connolly) also uses a Winchester 1873 in the fog battle scene. Algren states it is a '73 trapper, which could hold 6 + 1 in the chamber, yet you can see it is a Saddle Ring Carbine as evident by the saddle ring seen on the left side of the reciever.

Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) uses a Colt 1860 Army revolver, converted for use with metallic cartridges, while training Japan's army. One memorable scene with this gun is when Nathan Algren draws his Colt to scare a training soldier into shooting him and proving that the soldiers are not ready to battle the samurai.
Springfield Model 1861
The Imperial Army of Japan uses Springfield 1861 muzzle-loading rifles as their standard issued weapons during the first half of the movie. Unlike many muzzle-loaders, some of these guns appear to be able to fire two shots before having to reload, all though this could be incorrect. But this could be a trick of the camera where the line of soldiers reloaded, and fired again, or a another line assembled off camera.

In the second half of the movie, the Japanese Imperial Army carries German bolt-action Mauser M1871/84 rifles, in spite of the fact they were supposedly being armed by the US. The soldiers carrying the M1871/84 model is anachronistic because the 84 model was not introduced until 1884 and the battle takes place in 1877.
Springfield Model 1861
The Imperial Army of Japan uses Springfield Model 1861 muzzle-loading rifles as their standard issued weapons during the first half of the movie. Unlike many muzzle-loaders, some of these guns appear to be able to fire two shots before having to reload, all though this could be incorrect. But this could be a trick of the camera where the line of soldiers reloaded, and fired again, or a another line assembled off camera.
Mauser M1871/84
In the second half of the movie, the Japanese Imperial Army carries German bolt-action Mauser M1871/84 rifles, in spite of the fact they were supposedly being armed by the US. The soldiers carrying the M1871/84 model is anachronistic because the 84 model was not introduced until 1884 and the battle takes place in 1877.

The Imperial Army is shown training with Howitzers after Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) comes back from being with the samurai for a few months. The Howitzers are later used in the final battle scene. Both the Mountain Howitzer and the Field Howitzer are the same caliber projectile, but require different powder charges. The movie utilized the Field Howitzer as shown in the screen shots below.
Winchester Model 1873
In the beginning of the film, Nathan Agren (Tom Cruise) shows off and fires a Winchester 1873 at a trade show, according to Nathan it is a lever action rifle with a seven shot capacity.
Nathan Agren (Tom Cruise) uses a Colt 1860 Army revolver, converted for use with metallic cartridges, while training Japan's army. One memorable scene with this gun is when Nathan Agren tries to scare a training soldier by shooting around him to prove that the soldiers are not ready to battle the samurai.
