==SIG-Sauer P220R==

John McClane's ([[Bruce Willis]]'s) main weapon throughout the movie is a [[Sig Sauer P220 pistol series#SIG P220|SIG-Sauer P220R]] (nowadays, this model is simply known as the standard P220). During the confrontation with Mai Linh ([[Maggie Q]]) in the power plant, she takes the P220 and holds it on Matt Farrel ([[Justin Long]]). After McClane hits her with an SUV, she loses the gun and it is never seen again; McClane later takes a Beretta PX4 Storm from a slain terrorist, which becomes his weapon for the rest of the movie.

This could not be John McClane's service weapon, because the NYPD only allows officers, including detectives, to carry a double action only weapon, which the P220R is not. Therefore, it must be an off-duty/backup weapon.

Sig makes a DAO P220, the DAK model, so it is plausible for him to carry it on duty.

A terrorist trying to kill John McClane ([[Bruce Willis]]) is using a silenced [[Beretta Px4 Storm]]. John McClane then picks it up and uses it in the second half of the film. During the final confrontation with Gabriel, McClane drops the pistol, and is then used by Matt Farell to kill Emerson with.

== Mark 12 Mod 0 SPR==

The gun used by the terrorist snipers, first in the shootout at Matt Farell([[Justin Long]])'s apartment, and later during chase scene in Washington D.C., is the Mark 12 Mod 0 SPR (Special Purpose Rifle). The Mod 0 uses a PRI carbon fiber handguard where the Mod 1 uses either a Knight Armament or LaRue Tactical free-floating aluminum handguard. This is a little-known AR15 derivative developed by Crane and is used by SOCOM in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other hot-spots globally. The versions in the movie are fitted with suppressors and brass catchers and are fired on automatic (which suggests that the terrorists simply took the upper receivers/barrels and slapped them on full-auto lowers).

== Glock 22 ==

The 2nd Generation [[Glock#Glock 22|Glock 22]] pistol appears in the film as the main weapon of U.S. Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard ([[Tommy Lee Jones]]) and his fellow deputies. Later in the film, Special Agent John Royce ([[Robert Downey Jr.]]) can be seen using one when he and Gerard are pursuing Mark Sheridan ([[Wesley Snipes]]) aboard the cargo ship, breaking up a fight between Sheridan and Gerard by shooting Sheridan in the shoulder after Sheridan gets ahold of Gerard's Glock and pistol-whips Gerard in the back with it. Near the end of the film, Royce attempts to use his Glock to kill Sheridan and Gerard, only to discover that Gerard had replaced the magazine with an empty one from his gun.

(It is revealed in the film that Gerard carries the G22 during the hospital scene, when Gerard points out that Royce is now carrying a Glock and Royce replies, "Yeah, Glock .40, just like yours.")

When Royce and Gerard first meet, Gerard asks to see what kind of gun Royce is carrying. Royce then produces a stainless steel [[Taurus PT945]] which Gerard calls a "nickel-plated sissy pistol", advising Royce to get a Glock instead. During the manhunt in the swamp, Sheridan takes the pistol from Royce and holds him at gunpoint in a short standoff with Gerard before shooting Gerard in his bulletproof vest in order to make his escape. Royce manages to retake the weapon and later uses the pistol to fatally wound Deputy Marshal Noah Newman ([[Tom Wood]]) when Newman catches Royce about to kill Sheridan in cold blood at the Lorelei Building. Royce then tries to pass it off as the gun Sheridan used to kill Newman with the serial number filed off, but Gerard recognizes it from their earlier meeting.

Following the car crash in Chicago, firefighters responding to the accident find a blue steel [[Kahr K9]] hidden in the glovebox of Sheridan's tow truck (although the gun is mostly covered up by the holster it's in, you can see "K9" on the end of the slide). The discovery of this weapon leads to Sheridan being arrested on concealed weapons charges.

While on board the prisoner transport flight, an Asian prisoner retrieves an XL-17 pen gun hidden in a roll of toilet paper in the lavatory. The prisoner then attempts to use the weapon to kill Sheridan but fails, the shot piercing the fuselage of the plane and causing an explosive decompression that sucks the would-be assassin and several other prisoners and guards out of the plane and forces an emergency landing.

Upon reaching New York City, Sheridan meets with an old friend he calls "Sarge" who provides him with materials needed in his mission to exonerate himself, including a stainless steel [[M1911 pistol series#M1911A1|M1911A1]]. He then uses it when he confronts Agent Barrows in the cemetery, pistol-whipping him in the face and holding him at gunpoint with it. He then uses it in the ensuing shootout with Xian Chen, and while being persued to the Lorelei Building by Gerard and company. Interestingly, Gerard can be seen holding this pistol on promotional material for the film, but never uses one on-screen.

In the opening scenes of ''[[Shooter]]'' Swagger ([[Mark Wahlberg]]), on mission in Ethiopia, is seen firing both a [[Barrett M82]] and a [[M40_sniper_rifle|M40A3]] sniper rifle. It is also used by Sanders to assassinate the Archbishop of Ethiopia. Even though this rifle is a semi-automatic in real life, in the movie, Swagger racks the charging handle between shots. This is most likely an unfortunate result of using a prop (blank firing replica) weapon instead of the real version of the same rifle, since the rest of the movie is fairly technically sound.(Ryan S. here.I was the weapons co-ordinator on this film.The Barrett used was a real one firing blanks.After multiple straffing runs by the helicopter and the amount of dust and crap floating in the air from all the explosions,the gun did malfunction a few times on multiple takes.Unfortuantely the way it was edited together made it seem like he was cocking it after every shot.)

== M203 Grenade Launcher ==

Donnie Fenn ([[Lane Garrison]]) has an [[M203 grenade launcher]] on his [[M16 rifle series#M4/M4A1 Carbine|M4A1]] in the beginning of the film which he uses to destroy an enemy vehicle while trying to fight off the helicopter.

==Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention==

This hefty rifle fires the extremely ballistically efficient .408 Chey-Tac round. As a result, this rifle, with correctly manufactured ammunition, can be effectively used out to distances of approimately 1.5 miles. The rifle is usually used with a ballistic computer that calculates bullet trajectory based on atmospheric conditions but is shown by itself in the hands of Swagger, firing at a tin can and hitting it at a supposed 1 mile range (edit: although not visible in the still frames provided, during the movie scene a ballistic computer can be seen immediately to the actor's right of the weapon in the close shot of the trigger pull). While it is possible, one must realize that the average grouping for even the best rifle (the M-200 being high on that list) at this range will be approximately 20 inches at 2000 yards. Keeping that in mind, the scene was obviously used to showcase Swagger's supernatural ability to snipe. This is also the rifle used to frame Swagger, at the meeting with the Attorney General at the end of the film, Swagger proves his innocence by loading a round in the weapon (provided by Memphis) and attempts to fire, but the weapon only produces a harmless click. Swagger then explains that everytime he leaves his house he swaps the firing pins in his rifles with shorter ones, rendering the weapons unable to fire, thus proving that he didn't murder the Archbishop.

== Remington Model 700PSS ==

A tactical police heavy barreled version of the [[Remington 700|Remington Model 700]], the Model 700PSS was purchased by Bob Lee Swagger in the sportings goods store when he is on the run (having Memphis buy the rifle). Next it is used at the river scene were Swagger is training Special Agent Nick Memphis to shoot under pressure. Later it is used by Memphis to provide cover fire to Swagger as they infiltrate the ranch in Virginia. Finally it is used by Swagger in the mountain scene were he is taken into custody. The secret service snipers at the president's speech use these rifles as well.

Police Officer Stanley Timmons ([[Alan C. Peterson]]) wounds Swagger ([[Mark Wahlberg]]) with a [[Glock#Glock_17|Glock 17]]. After being wounded Swagger ([[Mark Wahlberg]]) then strips a [[Glock#Glock_17|Glock 17]] from young FBI Special Agent Nick Memphis ([[Michael Pena]]).
-Memphis' piece could be a Glock 22, seeing is that is what an FBI agent would be using in real life and the barrel looks like it could be 10mm... at a glance atleast...?
It would make a lot of sense if it were a G22 which fires a .40 S&W round, a short 10mm.

:Actually, the whole "K"/"KE" thing is kind of a moot point because the double-sighted carry handle is widely sold, so any G36 can be fitted with it. The only difference is that the Bundeswehr gets it for free, whereas other customers have to pay extra for it. -MT2008

While Bobby Lee Swagger ([[Mark Wahlberg]]) is on the run, a police officer in the film pulls a [[Beretta 92 pistol series|Beretta 92FS]] on him when trying to arrest him, but Swagger disarms and knocks out the officer before he can. A sawed off [[Remington 870|Remington 870 Express]] is seen when Sarah shoots a intruder in her home before being captured by Jack Payne ([[Elias Koteas]]), it is unknown if this is a second shotgun or if Sarah cut the stock and barrel off the one from earlier (most likely the latter). It is last seen during the mountain scene when Payne has it taped to his hand and is using to hold Sarah hostage when he taunts Swagger by telling him he has no shot until Swagger fires a shot at Payne's hand, destroying the weapon and knicking a finger or two, Swagger then fires a second shot blowing Payne's arm off at the elbow.

Sarah then picks up the handgun and uses it to finish off a wounded Payne ([[Elias Koteas]]) before being relieved of it by Swagger. There is also a few goofs with this weapon such as slide locking back after only four shots when Sarah finishes off Payne despite the gun holding 15 rounds. And also, in the next shot after this, the slide isn't locked back.

The [[M16 rifle series#M16A2 Rifle|M16A2]] appears numerous times in the film as the standard weapon of the U.S. Marine Corps, most notably in a scene where Swofford snaps under stress and holds Fergus ([[Brian Geraghty]]) at gunpoint with one and forces him to recite the Rifleman's Creed, then gives the weapon to Fergus and demands for him to shoot him with it, which fergus refuses to do. During the Scout/Sniper training, The Marines are also seen using M16A2s converted to fire paintballs in a dismal attempt to take out their instructor, Staff Sgt. Sykes ([[Jamie Foxx]]), one of the Marines, Fowler ([[Evan Jones]]) takes a paintball to the face in the process.

At the end of the film when the Marines fire their weapons into the air in celebration of the war's end, Alan Troy ([[Peter Sarsgaard]]) fires his M16/M203 combo into the air, and his M16 is clearly seen firing full-auto. Since an M16A2 fires in 3 round bursts, it is assumed to be an [[M16 rifle series#M16A3 Rifle|M16A3]]. This would also be a historical anachronism, since the M16A3 wasn't in service during the first Gulf War, however, most M16A2s in motion pictures are just full auto A1 lower receivers built up to look like A2s.
This is definitely not an M16A3, as it does not have a removable carry handle.

The standard used [[M60 machine gun|M60]] at the time of Desert Storm, the [[M60 machine gun|M60E3]], is seen several times in the film. Its first appearance is when the Marines are crawling through barbed wire in basic training, when a soldier is ordered to fire live rounds over their head. A trainee snaps and stands up and is killed by the gun. Aside from smaller appearances, the M60E3 is not seen much more until the end of the film, when several Marines are seen firing M60E3s into the air, including SSgt. Sykes.
