Savages is a 2012 narco-thriller based on Don Winslow's novel of the same name and directed by Oliver Stone. The film follows two successful marijuana-dealing friends: Chon (Taylor Kitsch), a former Navy SEAL, and Ben (Aaron Johnson), a UC Berkley graduate who must fight back against the Baja Cartel, run by Elena La Reina (Salma Hayek) and her enforcer Lado (Benicio del Toro), who have kidnapped their girlfriend O (Blake Lively) in order to push them out of the business.
Chon (Taylor Kitsch) is seen spinning the cylinder of a Ruger LCR. The novel states that he pulls out a .38, when the Cartel asks him if he has a gun on hand. It is likely that this is the same gun, since the LCR comes in .357 and .38.
Just because it is said to be a Remington 870 in the book does not mean it will be an 870 in the movie. Movies miss details from the books they are based off all the time. Just about to post the same thing. So it does not mean that the shotgun is actually a 870, we will see when the movie comes out. In the meantime should we just call it unknown shotgun? Also about the M1911, just because of the beavertail and hammer, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a Kimber either, it's not that hard to get a M1911 modified with those parts.
Just because it is said to be a Remington 870 in the book does not mean it will be an 870 in the movie. Movies miss details from the books they are based off all the time. For example in No Country for Old Men, Llewelyn's rifle is described as a Mauser rifle, but in the movie adaptation Llewelyn uses a Remington 700. --SmithandWesson36 12:08, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

:Yeah, I agree they should be listed as unknown shotgun and unknown 1911 variant right now until we can get better shots of both guns. --SmithandWesson36 13:00, 29 April 2012 (CDT)
