''The Alamo'' was the 2004 film based on the legendary 13-day siege of the Alamo Mission in what is modern day San Antonio, Texas. The battle was not strategically important, but was pivotal in uniting the resolve of Texans in the Texas Revolution of 1835-6 (in which Texas declared itself an independent Republic and kicked out governmental influences from Mexico). Despite the fact the the Mexican Army was fighting the Republic of Texas, most people confuse this campaign with the Mexican-American War of the 1840s.

== Kentucky Flintlock Rifle ==
Davy Crockett ([[Billy Bob Thornton]]) most notably uses a [[Kentucky Flintlock Rifle|Kentucky/Pennsylvania long rifle]] during his attempted shot at Santa Anna ([[Emilio Echevarría]]) but he misses due to the wind. Though many people believe that Kentucky long rifles were the norm, nearly all of the defenders carried a mish mash of whatever weapon was available.

== Model 1766 French Charleville Infantry Musket==
This surplus French gun was commonly used by the defenders of the Alamo. The Charleville went through a series of modifications since its inception and all variants found their way to America somehow, however, it is difficult to see which year pattern is being used in the film, since there are no closeups of the pan & frizzen side of the gun. For the sake of historical accuracy, the Model 1766 French Charleville Infantry Musket was the most common Charleville seen at the siege.

== Flintlock Pistol ==
Gen. Sam Houston ([[Dennis Quaid]]) and Lt. Col. William B. Travis ([[Patrick Wilson]]) keep Flintlock pistols as their sidearms. Col. James Bowie ([[Jason Patric]]) is given two flintlock pistols when he is too sick and stuck in bed.

== Double Barreled Flintlock Shotgun ==
Lt. Col. William B. Travis ([[Patrick Wilson]]) and Col. James Bowie ([[Jason Patric]]) each carry Double Barreled Flintlock shotguns throughout the film. They are mostly seen strapped on their backs but Travis is seen most clearly when he shoots a charging Mexican soldier coming at Crockett ([[Billy Bob Thornton]]). Jim Bowie assembles his shotgun during the final battle of the Alamo, he uses it to shoot the Mexican soldiers coming in before they bayonet him.

== Brown Bess Flintlock Musket ==
The Mexican Army under the command of General Santa Anna use Brown Bess smoothbore .75 caliber muskets, which was the standard issue long gun of the Mexican Army of the time.

The grip appears to be based on the Vektor CP-1

* Spooner ([[Will Smith]]) carries a futuristic custom pistol that is supposed to be a Semiautomatic 9mm. It is built from a 2 part plastic shell (with parts molded from a Walther P99) that has a real [[Taurus Model 85]] .38 special revolver hidden inside. Lt. Bergin ([[Chi McBride]]) and all the other police officers appear to also have the sidearm. It is seen in the film next to loaded 9mm magazines, and is holstered with like magazines in adjoining mag pouches, but the real firearm inside the mockup is a .38 special revolver.

Actually, the hero gun has a removeable maagzine of caseless ammo. It's the chunk of fiberglass forward of the trigger guard. It is not supposed to be a 9mm.

Detective Spooner also carries a back-up piece on his ankle that is a dressed up/clamshelled walther PPK. He uses this when the robot takes his main pistol, and jumps through the window.

The Military teams carry an unusual rifle that looks like part paintball gun and part carbine.

* One of these combination Pump and Semi-automatic shotguns is picked up and used by Lieutenant Bergin ([[Chi McBride]]) when the USR robots storm the police station, using it to take down several attackers before being disarmed. His SPAS is heavily modified with a futuristic looking top heat shield and an extended front end.

* In this shot, the SWAT team member firing behind the officer with the MP5K is firing some sort of heavily modified pistol. It looks like a Taurus PT92/99 type but I am not sure.

You can buy aftermarket pistol muzzlebreaks that look like the AR-type birdcages. They're out there if you look.

==Ruger MP9==
* In this shot we see two Ruger MP9s, three Heckler & Koch MP5Ks, one of the Futuristic shotgun used by everyone, and another one of the hither to unknown Futuristic Pistol.

* Carried by Spooner and used by Susan Calvin, it is a [[Spectre M4|Sites Spectre M4]] (chambered in 9mm) enclosed in a custom plastic shell to mask it's true identity. In one of the closeup screenshots we can see the rear sight, selector switch and safety. In the movie, the trigger guard is removed, a finger grooved grip covers the original M4 grip and there is a PSG-01 style palm pad attached to the base of the pistol grip.
