==Beretta 92FS==

The [[Beretta 92 pistol series#Beretta 92F/FS|Beretta 92FS]] appears in the film in the hands of U.S. Secret Service agents and U.S. military personnel. USAF Major Mitchell ([[Adam Baldwin]]) along with Secret Service agents can be seen volley-firing them to kill an alien as it is telepathically attacking President Thomas J. Whitmore ([[Bill Pullman]]). In another scene, Major Mitchell fires one at a captured alien fighter when David Levinson ([[Jeff Goldblum]]) is demonstrating the computer virus he designed to neutralize the aliens' technology, the first shot ricocheting off the fighters' shields and the second shot hitting a Coke can placed on the hull of the fighter when David uploads the virus. A Beretta 92FS can also be seen in a graphic on a TV news broadcast asking Los Angeles residents not to fire on the spacecraft for fear of starting an interstellar war.

==Beretta 92SB==

USMC Gen. William Grey ([[Robert Loggia]]) uses a [[Beretta 92 pistol series#Beretta 92SB|Beretta 92SB]] whilst shooting to alien that is telepathically attacking President Thomas J. Whitmore ([[Bill Pullman]]). Due to a continuity error, Mitchell's ([[Adam Baldwin]]) Beretta changes from a 92FS to the older-model 92SB when he finishes off the Alien with three shots. The pistol is distinguished from the 92FS by its rounded trigger guard.

==Double-Barreled Shotgun==

When David Levinson goes to pick up his father Julius Levinson ([[Judd Hirsch]]) in New York City, Julius comes to the door brandishing a [[12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun|double-barreled shotgun]], thinking David is one of the many looters running rampant as a result of the panic created by the aliens' arrival. Interestingly, the weapon makes a pump-action cocking sound when Julius first raises it.

== Webley Mk. V ==
Sherlock Holmes ([[Robert Downey Jr.]]) can be seen with a [[Webley Mk V]] in the trailer after disarming a man that previously wield it. He is also seen wielding it in a promotional poster, note Downey's finger is off of the trigger, a sign of good gun handling.

==Mauser C96/ M712 Schnellfeuer==
Sherlock Holmes ([[Robert Downey Jr.]]) loads a [[Mauser C96]] in the trailer. He can also be seen holding it in several promotion photos. The use of this gun in the movie is rather anachronistic as its set in 1892 and the C96 was first produced in 1896.

In a scene in an arms factory the pistol is introduced as being select fire and having a detachable box magazine making it the M712 Schnellfeuer. This furthers the anachronism as this variety was not introduced until 1927 for the Spanish made variety and 1923 for the Mauser produced design.
